Not sure if it's worthwhile to replace or not, much less what it is..

 

Where's the damage? Are talking about scuffs on the undertray lip? It doesn't look bad at all, could have been worse...

Right under the bumper, seems there's some sort of plastic cover and the whole front is scraped, torn, and there's gaps between it and the bumper. I've never really looked, so I can't be sure if it's new damage or not.

My undershield looks like that also...but it's brand new now since accident from a few months back. It's fine, don't bother replacing it. It did it's job by protecting the AC condenser and rad.

i hate those screws under there i bought 9 of those already they keep falling off.

yeah i noticed a whit scratch as well. dont see anything else. when i first saw the post i tought your front end would be totally gone! your lucky!!!

 

Recently came back from a long road trip with parents in their vehicle. Some evil looking tire shrapnel out there on the interstates going thru hot dry climates.

 

The bumper is intact

 

its not worth fixing......


it just looks like normal scuff marks from bump stops in a parking space or a steep driveway.

the undertray is moderately expensive from Mazda, and depending on your insurance, they will deny your claim or you'll have to pay for the part anyway.


you might be able to get away with just jacking up the car and loosening the bolts that hold up the tray and see if you can flatten it out and then re-tightening the bolts.

 

And the Retread/Retard misconseption arises once again. lol.

 

An all too common headline in the newspaper at least weekly in these parts.

 

i was gonna suggest that as well, my 04 has the similar small gaps between mounting screws but unless youre roadkill nobody will notice it walking around and looking at the car. Id get some factory touch up, inevitably if you actually drive your car the front bumper will get scuffs eventually.
