Today, a friend and I were heading to Chipotle to get some lunch. We're about half way there and I feel a thud. The person SIDE SWIPED me and KEPT GOING. My friend got 4 of the digits of the license plate but the officer said that they have a very slim chance of finding the person.
After the police let us go, we continued on our way to Chipotle as there was only cosmetic damage and the mirror broke away like it was supposed to do, fixed that and it was drivable. Here's the best part. We pull into the parking lot, and I see a car that looked like the car that hit me WITH those four digits we got. Called the police, they came and said that it wasn't her, after talking to her. I thanked them and was on my way. I am so pissed that people just don't have ANY morals anymore. When she hit me, she like slowed down, and then gunned it. I tried to keep up but decided I should have just pulled over, so I did.

I will post pictures of the damage in about a half hour. This just irritates me to no end.

 

i've had 2 hits in a parking lot. neither left any info.

people are just ********. you screw up, you man up to it. it's what i'd do.

 

That's why you have collision insurance....for a$$holes like that. Hope you have a low deductible!

 

Next time... chase the person until you can get close enough to get the entire plate #.

I called my insurance and if they can't find the person with the Car Color, Make, and those four digits, then it gets filed as Phantom Hit and Run and my deductable goes down to 200. So it's not terrible. I go Tuesday for an estimate/appointment setup. Sorry I haven't posted the pictures, yet. I'm going to get them ASAP so you all can see it. The damage isn't horrible, it just makes me angry when I see it.

 

They definitely knew they hit me. I dropped it into second gear going 45 and he was already going twice as fast as me. They really didn't want to stop. HOPEFULLY it never happens again!!!
