Hmmmm...

I came across this picture on the 'net, it's that of an "M coupe", apparently a couped miata. But the point - is it just me, or does this look alot like a 2-door RX8? Perhaps a stage in the evolution to another RX7?

To me the car seems to have all sorts of Mazda written all over it: from that angle the front has a resemblence of the FC RX-7, the tail-lights look to be taken from the Miata, and the top of the car seems to resemble that of the FD RX-7. The door almost resembles the FD, but it doesn't have the same lines-

I've seen that picture quite a while ago. It's pretty old and the car is even based on the M1 Miata (earlier model with the flip-up headlights). I think it looks nice. Too bad it never made it to production. You can't tell from the photo, but the roof has the raised "bubbles" for added headroom (like the RX7).

I found some other pictures of another concept Miata coupe. I like the execution of the hardtop, but the grille and wheels are a little excessive.

definitely nice. I would love to see a new RX7 with similar looks, built on the RX8 platform.

I was wondering if they had plan for a hard top convertable miata?

Do you mean a folding hardtop like the Mercedes SLK or Lexus SC430? Doubtful, IMO, since those things add a lot of weight, thus going against Mazda's philosophy of keeping the Miata fairly light.
