Hood Dampers

Hood Dampers
Ordered a set of the generic ebay hood dampers from godspeed and am having problems with the install..
One of the pivot screws won't go into the ball it's supposed to sit on. After hammering another one that was giving me grief it finally went on but this one won't budge even with lotsa wd40.
I have one shock installed and on but am worried that the hood won't go down smoothly or it might bend or something because when I let my hand off the hood with just the shock holding it, it doesn't seem steady...
any help?

Be very carefull. the hood is aluminum and very light. Even with both dampers in good working order you have to close the hood carefully. Give in and spend the 130 bucks and get the Tein dampers. They work great. It's what I have.

I had a problem with godspeed from ebay awhile ago: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-exterior-appearance-body-kits-27/godspeed-hood-dampers-122157/
ended up going with the NRG and love them, but some people have had issues with them.

i would go tein. the nrg's make my hood pop. they're still on since i figure i'll have to replace my hood before i get new dampers. might just go aftermarket hood and go w/o dampers.
