how can I identify how often I got flashed ? :-)
Does anyone know a way to make the RX-8 display the firmware version? I remember vaguely that there was some insider trick to display internal codes over the speedometer. Could a version number be displayed that way?
I expect that each of those ECU flashes would show a different version number.

No replies? I am curious as well.

Geez...but I guess being flashed that way is MUCH better than being flashed by a dude in a raincoat.
N-E-ways...I am interested in the RX flash question also. There must be a way of finding out what is in the car.

he only tip I know is that the "L" flash can be checked by pumping the brakes and noting the oil gauge "sweep".
Do i need it in gear out of gear? Just pump the breaks when at a stand still.. I'll try that.

Clear.....
Yes, that is the procedure to clear the non-volatile memory, but that re-learns in about the first mile anyway.
When you 'key-on, pump x 21, inside 8 seconds', the oil pressure 'gauge' will sweep from 0 to 'normal', then back, if you have the latest (L) flash.
Previous versions don't do it.
