How classy at Autozone

I stopped by my local autozone to see if they had DC Adaptor extension cord. I ran into one of the employees right by the front door and asked if they carried them. He said "No, you need to go to Radio Shack."

I said Ok and walked back to the car. He is outside at the time with a couple of other guys out there. He yells over to me "Hey, you know there is a recall on that car." I looked at him and said "What recall?" It doesn't have enough horsepower. It has 40 or so horsepower less than Mazda says."

I said "Too bad there isn't a recall on idiots" and left.

And yes I know the HP difference is near 40 but you know how many idiots are out there.

That was highly unprofessional but it is the type of crap RX-8 owners are going to get due to Mazda's incompetence. Did the EPA2 standards come as a surprise to them???

Anyways, I am just venting. I will never shop at Autozone again.

What do you expect from someone who works at AutoZoned? I only go there once and a while to check out what all the Ricers are putting on there rides.

The only reason I go to AutoZone is to get more Castrol 5W20, and pick up some NAWS.

I just emailed Autzone rep and told them my experience and told them I am never shopping their again.

I am still shocked that someone would be such an ******* for no reason to a customer.

I even expected more from Autozone. The bad thing is they probably had the DC adaptor extension cords. What the hell was I thinking of asking the idiot that worked there.

You should've said something like, "Yeah, but it got me laid twice last night."

Eh, you could have had sex twice with your wife :D

Glad you reported him! There is no reason to display such behavior. This car brings out the worst in a lot of people

I would have said "Well I dont notice it" and then procede to smoke the tires as I left the parking lot. Autozone never has everything you need either.

Why can't you just say, "Damn, I wish there was a recall for another 40 hp!" Why must everyone take everything so personally?

I stopped off at Autozone not long after I bought the 8 to get oil. The clerk pointed to the car out in the lot and asked about the horsepower. I said, "well, there's some debate about that, but it gets me around OK." The guy just smiled, nodded approvingly, and said, "yeah."

I think some of you are missing my point. This is about unprofessionalism. In the retail world, your goal is to be friendly to customers. You hire people who at the very least do not intentionally **** off customers especially if they are not provoked.

I am sure employees of retail catch **** from unreasnable customers. However, my concern is that I just politely asked if they carried and item and when theys aid no, I walked out.

I vented some steam last night and sent an email to Autozone.

However, I am going by the store this week and get in some face time with the manager concerning his employee.

Dean is absolutely right!! I have worked in retail for many, many years. I can assure you, the professional expectation is much higher than this. Retailers are in the business to create repeat, satified customers. Not subject customers to imature sacastic onslaughts.

If the salesguy had an opinion.....well, he/she was not hired for their opinions.

I would call the owner of the store (I assume they are all independent) tell him he sent you to Radio Shack to shop.
Or let Autozone know that that store is projecting a negative image of the Autozone name.
Companies hate bad PR - (look at what Mazda has to deal with for the 40hp).

250 HP - 238HP = 40HP?

That's interesting.
