2x Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 3 12'' Dual 4ohm Voice Coils Component Subwoofer $499.98 (for both) /Sub / Trunk

Undecided on amp to power the Polk Component Speakers, and undecided on the headunit ( definitely want eclipse though, their craftsmanship is remarkable) I will take all of the comments, please dont post just to post either I want some good information on my choice of components or recommendations for a different component in this setup

Thanks

Thanks Gomez, just because I am getting a sportscar for my first car doesn't mean I will die. I want to slide into the community here and ask questions, not get these answers flaming me or telling me I will die, or on a quick route to death.

hmm well because you asked a a stupid question i'll give you an honest answer.....reached the 125 mph limiter in the auto...and have hit 153 in the manual on a wide *** open highway ((both were stupid and im a amateur driver)) but ya...im probally the only guy who will give you numbers...though it took quite awhile to reach that 153 mark lol =P ....

but ya it is just asking for trouble...so I don't condone it ...... but either way your young...im young we want to go as fast as possible as short as possible =)...so I could care less....

I deleted my post after looking at your profile. You are 15. You won't die, you are invincible. I didn't see any reason to leave my pointless post up there.

Take care on the road. Don't ask about top speeds and you will treated like an adult.

Vossont if you ever do plan to go over 80 mph do it on a strip or atleast on a section of road you know very well...with no traffic....clear views for over a mile....etc..

((Don't ever go over the speed limit on any back roads or twisties, and please don't end up like those jackasses who break 100 during rush hour on 4 lane highways))

((My 125 mph in the auto to the governor was on a track ...and the manual happened to be on a very wide stripped road of highway at a good hour with no traffic and actual sunlight... I had clear visibility for atleast a quarter of a mile the whole time...also ran down the road at legal speeds to make sure there was no debris....and its something i've only done once and don't plan to do again....GF was in the car and it was just ridiculous that I put her through that and myself...talk about being uncaring =( ))

While we are talking about it, how does it handle at high speeds? Get a little shakey? Ok, no back on audio components, any rcomendations?

The faster you go with the rx8, the smoother it gets.

And I thought I was young...

lol at high speeds the cars still a balanced beast...

I ended up switching lanes twice ((just to see how gentle the wheels had to be tilted)) at well over 130....again don't do it...only did it once...was stupid....allthough really really fun ((which most people should try atleast once :/ ...)) ...as far as audio goes...rummage through the audio section on this site....

if you got the upgraded bose system i'd stick with that ...because honestly to add electronics to this car can be a bitch....like the whole center dash....nuff said...and to remove the rear speakers we are talking about tons of work...

im perfectly fine with the sound system.... Base= +6 Treble = 0....good stuff .....plus all that added weight will only take away from the performance

((also PM'ed you so check your private messages))

The only problem I had with the manual RX-8 was on inclines. A six speed Trans Am was the first manual I owned, and if you revved past 3000 RPM on a hill in that thing, you'd probably go airborne. After not driving stick for over two years and coming from that beast, I ended up stalling a couple times on some minor inclines during the first week of driving my manual RX-8, but it wasn't too bad, just humiliating.

Towards the end of that week though, I had driven up a very steep bridge that opened up right after I had almost got to the top of it, and when it was finally closed and time for me to go accelerate up the incline, I only released the clutch at 2000 RPM or so for some stupid reason. My 8 scared the **** out of me as it bucked and rolled back half a car length. If the guy behind me hadn't been as far back as he was, he would have needed a new front bumper, and I probably would have been the first dumbass to roll a yellow RX-8 (of all colors) back into another car. I was probably a mere 5 inches from his front bumper before I had stopped the car.

After that little incident in the 8, you can bet your *** I was using the hand brake on hills for the next few weeks. Just goes to show you that this wasn't even my first manual and I almost fucked it up.

^ i think that happens to new owners all the time. i became best friends with my e-brake with my corolla in high school. it was a lifesaver (or more accurately a bumper saver!)

Then why not let him teach you instead of asking on a forum?

It's infinitely easier to learn by actually driving a manual than by reading about how to drive it.

My stick ability is somewhat limited since I am out of practice from not having driven one in six years. Used to drive my friend's Mustang all the time, which is where I learned to drive a stick. His was actually pretty easy. However, I recently drove a friend's brand new Mercedes (one day old, not sure what model) and that one was horrible to try and get the clutch/gas figured out. I kept killing it. I had never done that in anything else I drove stick in, even not doing a very good job at it. My mom's old '99 Protege she used to have drove well. I never killed it the first time I tried driving a stick even though it was slightly jerky sometimes on takeoff, which seemed to be the only point were I had difficulty, except maybe not pushing the clutch in soon enough when I was coming to a stop and the car sounded bogged down.

A week ago I drove a friend's wife's Miata and I had no problem shifting that car. The service department people at my dealer have all driven an RX-8 and said it is a really easy car to shift compared to a lot of others, so I feel better abuot it since I am getting a stick.

Just in case, though, I signed up for one lesson with the option of up to three reserved at Sears to make sure I feel more comfortable with a stick by the time my car gets here.

I've driven mt's all my life and I still stall my 8 out every once in a while. Usually in the middle of an intersection at rush hour, right after I get done cussing the people in front of me for not getting off the line fast enough when the light turns green. So I get to alot of HONK!HONK! every once in awhile. Then I have my passenger do one of these
