Cool How does it stack up?

Hey Guys and Girls....Here's a question for anyone to answer...

I have never owned a sports car....I have had an 87 Chevy Cav, 73 Volvo, 1980 Toy Pu, 89 taurus, 95 corsica, and my current girlfriend aka fiance has a 96 4 banger accord....

I really really want an Rx8...but my question is..........If I get this car....will I be able to hold my head up high when I'm pulled up next to a 2002 celica, or a 2004 tweeked civic, or even a v6 hyunda Tibropiece of crap?????I mean everyone compares it to a 350z which has more Hp peroid..but how does it stack up to all the other little whennnn whennn... cars....

P.S. Going all out when I purchase....Blue Rx with all the trimmings 33,000 can buy in Kansas...

This is why you havent gotten many responses. Do not base your decision on what others think of the car. Test drive it and the others your looking at and decide. Nobody here can make that choice for you, and a lot of people have different tastes on whats cool or not. Personally I like the Tiburon styling, but the car is much weaker, smaller and cheaper than the 8. SO how could you compare them? I still think the Tib is good if thats your budget, but is the 8 better in general? I think so. But theres some that disagree.

So dont be a victim of others whims, make your own decision and be happy.

Talking

The cars you mention don't even compare to the RX8 except the 350z.. Even then the clear winner is the RX8. You will always walk up to the car with a smile on your face a swelling in your chest. You start it and hear the zoom zoom zoom of the engine and you are off. You can't wait for the next curve and the straight away after. Sorry got carried away, then again I have since Aug. 26.

The 8 gets A LOT of attention from EVERYBODY. That's my impression so far. I posted a while back about a time when I had the car parked out front of a restaurant. Everyone stopped for a look -- guys, girls, suits, blue-collar guys. Luckily no dogs.

I've had a few doods in various cars check out the 8 on the road. I think their impression is "what the hell is that?". So it's definitely unique.

Maybe in a few years people won't be looking as much. But right now is a REALLY good time to own an 8

There is no way to tell if YOU can pull away from a Celica, etc. It all has to do with the driver. A skilled driver in a Celica could easily smoke an inexperienced RX8 driver.

The RX8 isn't meant to be a stop light racer. If that is all you want than go for something like a WRX. If you want a car that’s pretty fast and handles like a dream than the RX8 is the car for you.

The only real way to find out if the car for you is to test-drive it.

Also do a search on the topic. It has been discussed to the point of tedium.

Closed.

P.S.
If you want people to take you serious and don't want to be flamed, than I recommend that you don't ask questions like this. Asking if this car could beat such and such a car will get you no respect.
