You served a number of years in the Air Force. Your car (an '04 Velocity Red GT) has approximately 10,000 miles on the odometer. Your car was built on 10/03 and you bought it July 18th 2004. It was shipped from a dealer in Montana and I believe you picked it up at a dealer in Twin Falls.

Oh, and you've claimed to have hit at least 117mph before. Good thing I'm not Mazda.

If I was Mazda I would have no problem at all taking that information and figuring out your real name. That's a lot of identifying information. Yes, it is true all that could be one VERY elaborate lie that just so happens to match up exactly to Mazda's records of a customer. But, in a court of law, Mazda doesn't need to "prove" that Mike Jones (or whomever) is LiveBlues they just have to have a preponderance of evidence to make their case. People go to jail for murder with less information than what I found about you just from your posts. And after Mazda made their case the burden of proof would fall on you to prove that none of those posts were made by you and that it was all one elaborate plot. Good luck with that.
Point taken.

In defense of the thread starter-just because someone uses an avatar doesn't mean someone else cannot unless it's copyrighted. Also, we all started at a low post count so it shouldn't be held against this poster.

Just to keep the thread on track...

Here in South Africa there is no rule at the dealerships which voids warranty if you exceed a certain speed.

So... I've managed to reach 229km/h - which translates to around 143mph

i hate oak tree mazda ive had my car for a month and there was a dent on the fender baseball size before i got it they said to bring it in the next day to pull the dent so i got the car thinking they were gonna take it out. they still havent pulled the dent or installed my lo-jack or coated my interior or coated my paint...

Hey nice pic 4 years to Supercharge! Thats pretty close to Maximum you'll get on the 8, assuming you have a stock one. I had mine up to an indicated 151mph which is about 241km/h. In Europe by the way, they only claim a top speed of 235km/h. As of I know, the RX8's speedo is pretty accurate as well. Its funny, after about 120mph, I usually tend to start leaving my friends bikes behind (naked Z1000's and SV1000's) makes me feel Good.

I thought so too, good thing it isn't my dash

I wouldn't have the courage to pull my hands off the steering wheel at that speed to take a pic.

is there any way to take the limiter off? I mean 9k RPMs in 6th gear equals ~180mph. But of course it'll probably be lower due to drag but still.
