how to fight a ticket?
#26
Sorry man but having a cat back with a midpipe would make it REALLY loud, not to mention you are NEVER going to win the "I don't think he heard it" argument if the cop shows up. The court takes into account credibility & 99.99% of the time will side with the cop. If they are not moving violations just pay the fine & be done with it. You go to court & you will surely lose.

Peter you truely are my hero. I'm a cop here in Houston, and unless he has a machine that reads decibles (or whatever its called) that reads how loud the music was, you can always fight it. Here in Texas we cops don't care about loud ricers (rx8 NOT a ricer!!) or loud music, I couldn't really tell you what to do. All I can say is when you go to court, fight it. Your court day will be rescheduled and if that cop doesn't show up, the judge will throw out the ticket. Especially if its your first offense. And in the future, roll your damn windows up, you prob were listening to Prince really loud and deserved the ticket!!!!!! Or was it that stupid Hey Baby song???!!!

hey guys,
today, on my way home from school i was stopped by a cop and was given a ticket for two reasons.
1. my exhaust being too loud
2. my music being too loud
i tried to talk the cop to not giving me the ticket, but he was a ******* *** hole and still gave it to me. I tried to tell him that i wasn't dirupting the peace but he was just a bitch.
can anybody give me any advice on how i could refute these tickets? I told him i was going to take him to court. i hate cops that irrational about **** like this.

I hate the police, I'm always aware of what pigs are around me... When I see one I think of all the evil inside of me and just stare them down... When you get pulled over you just pwn em by acting... Begin acting and within 5 minutes you'll be able too see how gullible/dumb the officer your dealing with actually is. Most of the time an officer is a person who just wants more power (meaning they didn't have enough in the beginning). They could either be short or just not contain enough power within themselves too be content with themselves.
P.S. - This post contains a lot of generalizing

Just pay it and be done with it. It should not be a "points" ticket, but might want to make sure.
Just be glad you do not live down in Australia... You should hear some of the **** they have to put up with. (They can do things like ticketing you if your car is leaking oil, etc)

Wow... glad you feel that way about your public servants. I hope the next time you need an officer they take their time because you sure do no deserve/warrant their attention when you are in trouble/need their help

an effective public servant is one that stop's murderer's, rapists, and drug addicts from committing wrong actions... That officer must really be cleaning up those streets by telling someone too lower the volume of there sound system! What an efficient use of our tax money!

Please remember they are catching all those murderers etc to keep us all safe. Is a crappy job, highly underpaid and very risky.. and sure, they have ********. I think comments like yours might have a little something to do with it...?

Keef is an idiot.
I have alot of cops in my family and they spend a large amount of time domestic disputes and other crap, were people just want a moderator. They even spend a huge part of the day going to houses that the alarm got set off for some reason. You can't just pull someone over that looks like a "bad" then you'd be profiling. You have an area you work in, and can get in alot of trouble if you leave that. Most cops dont even like to write tickets cause everyone wants to beat it in court. You think they wanna go to court all the time? Most have to do it on personal time. They are not detectives, they wait for calls to come in and they go to them.
They keep the peace.

They have to do something while waiting for murderers, rapists and drug addicts to commit their act. Would you rather they congregate somewhere and polish off piles of donuts, or stay out on the streets where they are needed? Perhaps in a day he might write noise tickets, speeding tickets, find people with no insurance, no licenses and outstanding warrants... or maybe someday, find someone driving your car after they stole it.

haha yea i give them respect for what they do. but the in most cases, the only reason why the are cops is because they had nothing else to do. They are too damn stupid and wanted a job to feel superior than others. what else but a cop? hahah

I'm sorry Peter I should have clarified... I wasnt talking to you
Honest I dont blame you for being bitter about it, sound violations? Sheesh.. I mean if you were up and down the same road for an hour revving and pounding the tunes, okay..
My comment was geared towards Keef's complete disrespect.
I wish you good luck in court, your ticket doesnt sound fair to me.

OMG keef, why all the cop hate. You prob didn't read my post about Houston cops, and how they don't really care about loud music and car noises. I need no power or authority, I had lots more as a staff Sgt in the army. I'm in Houston too, call me bud, we can meet up and eat donuts all day long!!! I work downtown area. :D

Cop h8ter
Cop hate is as dumb as race hate, every person on this earth deserves the same respect you do until they prove that they don't. Just like any job out there, there are people who are good at it and those who aren't and everyone has had a bad day, you don't know what happened 30 minutes before you drove by. Anyhow.... back on topic.
My advice is that you don't fight a ticket unless you really got screwed and are 100% in the right. Unless you are a canonized saint, your odds of winning a "he said, she said" arguement against a police officer's judgement call are slim to absolute zero. The most likely outcome if your local laws and caselaw support office judgement calls on public disturbance fines (which most will) is going to be the cost of the ticket you got, plus the 100 to 150 dollar court costs.
My vote is to suck it up and call it a life lesson, or ammunition for some misplaced hate on the police and move on with your life, this is just going to add stress and give you cause for three or four more bad days.
