How limited is the R3?

Does anyone know what the production numbers on the R3 are? I'm just curious as to how rare they will be in the future.

They are as limited as the demand for them. If you order one you will get one, so you will have to wait and see how many are produced. Its like a package basically like SSL EVOs, the manufacturer set no limit on how many will be produced, basically all up to demand.

By chance anybody know what tires they come with?? I saw that car and driver managed a 14.9 1/4 mile, never seen one in the 14s stock and since the R3s have no extra power i am assuming it is the tire no? or do they have some sort of weight reduction as well?

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A

r3 is not a limited edition. it's a regular production trim. they'll just be rare 'cuz fewer and fewer 8's are getting sold, and few of those are r3's. to me (or people like me), they're special and i'll be hunting for one in the future

No weight loss in fact I believe the new 8's are a tad bit heavier.
I cannot remember where I read it but the "as tested" weight of the R3 was about 50lbs over the as tested weight of the '04 to '08 8's.
