How long....
....is the wait for when you order an RX8 until delivery?
I am leasing a mercedes that goes back June of 2005. 99.9% sure the rx8 will be the one replacing it. How long before june should I order the car? -----I know, I know....it's a long time from now but I am looking sooo much forward to it....

Oh, and the reason I posted this, is because when I got the Merc. I had to wait about 60 days for it because of the options I asked for. I never owned a Mazda, and don't know how they operate...

Well go down to your dealership and start checking it out now. If you have to order from Japan it can take 3 months. Plus who could wait until June? You will probably get a better deal now than you would if you waited to talk to the dealer in the spring.

I don't know if this will help, but I used Mazda USA's website to browse dealer inventory. When I got there, the car wasn't there and was due in two weeks. It has been three weeks and still no car (expecting it before the end of the month). RX-8 packages are pretty comprehensive and most dealers can put on any missing accessories. The car I found was missing the wind deflector and Alarm Shock Sensor upgrade. I negotiated for the dealer to put them on at the S-plan price - no labor. Now I am going to try and get them to put on my winter wheels and tires at no charge.

For example, if you want the spare tire kit, you will pay almost double if you buy it as a dealer rather than port installed option, as the port installed kit includes the tire and wheel, but the dealer option includes only the wheel; the tire is extra...

We have ordered AT Titanium fully loaded with almost every option available for my wife. Faxed build to over 20 dealers around our area, and almost every one indicated 6-8 weeks build to delivery time. I too chose all options to insure a car that hasn't been sitting around, or driven hard by people who didn't intend to buy it anyway. I placed the order with my local dealer who priced the car right. Ordered Jan 12 looking forward to delivery. It's hard to keep a secret this exciting.
