How long ru keeping ur 8?
If a new rotary engine is developed with the one element most of us want i'm getting it, otherwise I will have my 8 for a while. I believe it will age better with its uniqueness and they say rotaries get a little better with age as far as performance.

I'm keeping my 8 for a while. Once the FI aftermarket grows a little (with reliability) then I'll be saving up for that. If Mazda makes another, faster RX car, then you gotta do what you gotta do...

i plan on keeping it. she's my first rotary, and my first sports car. she has left sentimental value withn me .
if i lose it for whatever reason, i'll get another one when i'm back on my feet.

I'll never let my 8 go. I plan on getting a 7 and other cars. I must have toys. I dont want to drop cash on a Z06 or Lambo. I want toys I can play with and not get bored. But thats just me. So yea I'm in for the long-haul.

My plan is to keep my 8 if possible and fix her up a bit for less weight, more power, and better handling (within reason). Also...I'd like to add a aftermarket NAV/DVD player/video monitor radio IF we ever get passed the Mazda headunit trash they pulled on us.
Now, if the up and comming Camaro has good back seats then I might part ways...but that's a BIG MIGHT. The only reason I would do such a thing is that I don't have the space for 3 cars but maybe by then I will. I just worry that I won't be able to taste a good old American V8 (of the Chevy kind) in the far future if gas prices keep going up.
Now...if Mazda builds a better 8 in the future, I might just trade mine in after it's paid for the new 8.
It's too early to tell...I love her now and I'm enjoying my first rotary very much!

I am holding out till the next Supra, redesign Z or RX-9/Kubura/RX-7 replacement comes out. If those are not impressive , then i will keep my 8 for a long time and just buy a year or two old Z-06 505Hp edition in 2009.
