Too early to tell. I usually get a new car if there is something on the market that is better than my old car by a wide margin. So far, the 8 combines many qualities that may be hard to duplicate with another with any one car. I'd have to wait for the 8 to be superceded.

Life expectancy of the North American Sloth eg: people (in North America). I'll keep the car about that long. I mean the thing is a yute. I've got a 37 year old Alfa and a 32 year old Mercedes both of which run great. Assuming average life expectancy around seventy-five, the car and I should never have to part. That's my theory, and I'm stickin' to it.

Mine is leased, so it will go back to Mazda at the end of 36 months. Unless of course I buy it at lease end! That may happen, I have 4 cars and figured 12k miles per year would be fine, but I'm having fun with the 8 and have 9+K already in 6 months so may have to buy it out rather than pay the over mileage fee!

Mine is leased as well, but only for 12 months (that's expensive, but it's a tax deduction thing, I use it as my company car). At the end of this period, my income situation and my feelings about the car will be the input factors for a buying decision. At the moment, things things look like I will buy the car. And if I buy it, I'll keep it for a long time, I guess.

BTW, my mileage limit is 32k kilometers a year and I already have 10k after 6 weeks ...
