How many demo miles are too much?

How many demo miles are too much?
Lowest number of miles I've seen on new R3 in Philly are is 25. I know that is low. But every sports car I have bought new has had 10 or less miles.
The other thing is since these cars are started and stopped frequently how do u know that they are following the correct warming up before shutting down etc procedures to prevent flooding? Like I was at dealership in July and he stars car, does not warm up and when we are done just shuts off. So I ask him about revving to 3-4k and then shutting off and he is totally clueless.
So look I am ready to buy but the ideal one for me would be just off the truck. Since I am going to purchase this week that ain't going to happen. So does all the **** that I mentioned above matter as long as the car has, lets say, less than 60 miles or am I now just being crazy paranoid. LOVE this car!

don't sweat over it unless the car has hundreds or thousands of miles on it......the car will not be broken or on its way to death in 25 miles of test driving.
Sad that the idea of the 8s reliability has come to this.....
you don't really need to rev to 4k to shut it off, maybe back in 04 with the bad starters and what not but not anymore. You can drive it cold as long as you don't mash the gas to the floor and rev it high (which I think the 09+ stops you from doing anyway). The whole wait till it warms up junk is just rubbish. it's like any other car, start it and go just be nice with it until it is warmed up.
and yes... you are being WAY to paranoid.
have to remember that stuff you read here is not fact but recommendations. So most likely if you read some odd little tidbit that a mazda sales person is going to have absolutely no clue wtf you are talking about and what you are telling him may or may not really be a good practice.

I wish mine only had 25 miles on it. I only found one anywhere close to me in the color I wanted and it had 400 when I bought it. I'm not too worried, but I cringe a bit when I think about how that first 400 was put on. (It now has about 2500.)

Zoomy had 97 miles on the clock when I bought him off the showroom floor. My wife was upset when she saw the mileage. I felt a little queasy, but had fallen in love and went ahead.
No problems. Actually a little benefit. Because he had taken a few demo drives, they had probably put fresh plugs in him, so they handed me the PDI set as a gift. Because he was on the showroom floor, he was nicely washed and waxed and had door edge guards.
As Cam said, it might just be one test drive. Probably two. Probably less wear and tear than if you valet park it someplace.

my baby was a demo vehicle. she had like 230 miles on her new. they sold the car to us as used, as well as the deals that they were already offering. it was too good to pass up. just the usual issues. recalls etc. no major issues at all

I work at a dealership. Usually on sports cars, they wont put a lot of miles on it. However for 'normal cars', the highest we go around here is 5000 miles then apply a 'demo discount'. So a handful of our 2011 models have up to 5000 miles on it.

lol yea thats not too bad. We had a 2010 Camaro SS with all the factory goodies (upgraded wheels, ground effects, etc, etc) that had over 3000 miles on it (and they were still asking sticker). This was back when the Camaros first came out, the GM had to take one as a demo

Not being a smartass, just making sure they did that for you

I bought a car that I watched come off the delivery truck yesterday.
The 2011 Nissan Rogue. It's not even on Nissan's website yet. I am the only one to ever drive it outside of the manufacturer/delivery employees.
0.9 miles on it when I took ownership lol.

I know thoughts vary, but anything more than 100 miles would make me DEMAND a discount, unless they wanted me to walk. My Speed3 had 112 miles and that was FAR too many for me with any kind of performance car. It's not like people are test driving it just to see the interior. They want to see what it does. I could live with some miles on it, but they're going to make me want to buy it!

I am one of those people that respects that property doesnt belong to me, however Ive seen douchebag people beat the living hell out of cars on the lot or customers that act irresponsibly then just say 'nah not interested' and run off.
Its a roll of the dice, unfortunately.
