My car was in my garage all last winter; I was out of the area for 8 months, but I guess I will be buying some winter or all season tires when the time comes. Can't really see getting another vehicle to take care of.

 

I was thinking to keep the RX8 as a beater later...lol...it sees -50C winters and lots of snow =p although it gets washed *a lot* during winter

99 Jetta (old body style) is my winter beater here.

 

My winter vehicle is a 1992 Dodge Dakota. To save on gas I also have a 2002 Suzuki 650SVS, I've been driving back and forth to work.

 

yeah I have a beater There is no way my baby is touching snow; or even rain haha.. My beater Gas saver are a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gt and a 2008 Yamaha R-6 Raven

First year I got my 8, I put on about 22k miles. This is when gas was "only" in the $2-3 range. At the end of last year I got a 92 B2200 as my beater for $1200. Now 8 months and 15k miles on the beater later, my 8 just turned 25K miles, the money I saved on gas had already paid for the beater.

 

In the past 2 years I only put on 5,000miles on the 8...

I have a beater, but I usually drive my 8, I just have 1 because.....well, turboed rx8, lets not kid ourselves, not that much reliable and great on gas

 

My beater is a 1997 Nissan Sentra GXE 5M in white with 180K miles. I get 30-32MPG in town and 40MPG on the highway. Of course, with 115HP (when new) it's not my 8. But then again, its not my 8 at the gas pump!

my 96' Nissan D2 pickup....its my work beater.....

 

93 toyota corolla....but I always end up driving my 8 cuz I'm drawn to it. It has changed me. It has consumed me. It has rewired my way of thinking about driving cars. She's my preciousssss....! lol..just kidding.......... it's somewhat true thou.... Eventhou I have a beater, I'm embarrassed to be seen in it. So I barely end up driving it...LOL besides my gf hates riding in corolla cuz it is so umcomfortable to ride in and noisy........and speakers are shot...and it smells! lol

 

I use my 94 jeep as a daily driver. I wouldnt consider it a beater but it is starting to show its age
