How many rotors?

How many rotors?
Ok, I got mine yesterday and people have been asking me, does your car have 2 or 3 rotors in the engine. They tell me they heard the Automatic version comes with a 2 rotor and the 6 speed comes with 3. I'm confused...

Two rotors for both the manual and automatic, i.e. two wankel style "engines" on the
same eccentric shaft.

In piston based cars, more pistons means more power right? Like a V8 is more powerful than a V6 or whatever....
What effects would a 3rd rotar have on the engine? I assume more power right? More HP and all that?
It'd be nice if they had more options like the ability to choose a more powerful engine, or a turbo version (if thats even possible, I've heard conflicting info).
But I guess this is the launch year model, and right now they've just got to prove it'll sell before they start going option-crazy.

A 3l V8 is not necessarily more powerful than a 3l V6, it's then due to the state of tune and because of the relative uses of each of the engine styles you will actually probably find that in general the V6 is more powerful.
However, if you're saying "I have a bunch of cylinders, each of (let's say) 500cc, what will be more powerful, 6 of them or 8 of them?" then the answer given the same state of tune is the 8, but that's because you're looking at a 4litre engine as opposed to a 3litre in the 6.
Anyway, my point is, it's not size or number as much as what you do with it. Yes, adding another identical rotor would make it more powerful as would FI, we'll just have to wait and see though.
