Thumbs up How many times did you take your RX-8 to the shop and why?

I was just trying to get an idea how often your RX-8 has problems. What started those problems and what is currently wrong?

Once, for broken visors, both replaced under warranty. Oh, and if one dealer denies a warranty claim then go to another.

My RX-8 has been to my local Mazda Dealers on and off starting the first week I got the car. My car has been flashed so many times only Gods knows now and this is the 3rd time my car has died in the middle of the street and I was almost rearended. Lets see oh yeah my battery died 3 days after I drove the car off the lot. Then there was all them recalls that I lost track of and now the killed my Engine...

**** I was just thinking... Thats a lot of crap I have been through with my car. I mean yeah I love my RX-8 to death. But hot dam. I'v seen some bad time yeah?

Brake squeal, new coils, SAT head unit install. So, 3. Oh. have to take it in again for a cracked weatherstrip on the door.

My experience has shown the car is not problem prone.

Twice, in 3 months of ownership. Once for an oil change. And another time to install splashguards and RB screens. My car has had zero problems.

RB screens? what are those? I think Dominon's car was built by a guy who just got laid off after 20 years of working at the plant. Or maybe bad charma?

Charma.... My wife hated my old Z because I dumped so much money into it. She was always talking **** about her. Well, she had to drive her a couple of times and twice my Z left het starnded. In all the years I owned that car it never once left me stranded. Dom hates his car and obviously wants another car from what I have read so maybe the Mazda gods are pissing on him.

Got it 2/2004 64,000 miles on it now. Other than two recalls and service I went to the shop for.

New oil pan per TSB.
Small leak in oil cooler line.
Water in tail light.
CEL do to a high RPM misfire while on a race track. (Track stuff shouldn't count)

Oil changes. No other problems. Not even squeaky brakes.

You got an upgraded SAT head unit under warranty?

But, to answer the question. 3 times, maybe. I don't know. Took it in on Thursday for these things:
1. oil change
2. bad tpms sensor
3. outlet in console went dead
4. running boards were peeling up
5. wheel rust rotor

All of which is covered under warranty except the oil change and that's $26. I would have taken it someplace else, but every other place is $23 or so, so since I was already dropping my car off at Mazda, it's worth the $3 for convienence. Not only that, but at my dealer, get 4 oil changes and get the 5th one free. Can't beat that.

I just meant cuz you don't have the issue.

I was just at the dealer last week for squeal for the third time in 18 months. I took the revised TSB with me just in case. Service manager just told me that nothing so far has worked and that "mazda continues to work on a solution." So I 'm now looking at some aftermarket pads to maybe help reduce the squealing and brake dust.
