How much trade in on a 05'?
I have a 05' RX8 with 36k miles on it. Im looking to possibly trade it in, but the only issue is I have one insurance claim on it. It was mild body damage, someone backed into the rear quarter panel and drove off.
How much do you guys think I could get in trade in?

Just a guess at $12-14k. It really depends on what you are trading it for and where you take it. Take it to a Carmax and they will give you a quote whether you buy something from them or not.

One insurance claim or ten claims doesn't make a difference. They'll put a paint meter on all panels of the car and see where damage has been repaired... that's what makes the difference.
Also, it all depends on where you trade it in. CarMax is really good about getting close to trade-in book value. But don't think you are getting close to trade-in book value at any dealership. I would find out what KBB is booking the trade-in at, then subtract 2-3 grand.
I can tell you all of this out of experience. Not shopping experience.... I have worked in the car business for the past 9 years.

Your dealership has a paint meter?
BTW - 2-3 grand back of book is pretty good. TX must be cooler to their customers. These things are 5-6 back here in Cali.
Just noticed OP is in TX . . . . . this could work out to his advantage

Carmax is also VERY hard on paint work.
All good dealerships have a paint meter.
I'm sure I could tell that it's been painted without one however, and that is one of the MAIN things to do on an appraisal. Paint work on a metal panel will deduct value.
$10-12k sounds right.

Funny, I work with over 50 dealerships here in Cali.
None of them have a paint meter.
It is one of the advantages the owner has over the dealer. If you can slip it past them, your trade in just became their problem.

VW dealership offered me 16k on my '05 with 30k miles on it on a trade, but I never closed the deal. This was 10 days ago.
Used 8s are actually selling around here, and in short supply. I heard Florida is the same. Dealers actually want 8s.
That's for a clean title, though. You have a marred titled.
