How often do you repair/touch-up front bumper?
I am asking this question because I have only had the car for officially ONE year now, and my front bumper is swiss cheese. I do drive on the mountain roads here at Virginia Tech for fun, and I often make trips to New Jersey and Delaware to see family on the interstate (die RT81 die). I try to drive behind people...and away from trucks but it seems the RX-8 is a magnet for rocks.
My car is currently in the shop getting the shine auto kit fitted and whatnot...and I KNOW it's going to **** me off having my lip shinier than my bumper (no pun).
Since my car is a SS, the chips actually look gray against the bumper...and I don't think touch-up paint would look all that better.
What do you guys think? Should I get a repaint ($500?) or should I get some Mazda touch-up and be a man?
Either way...I think I will have to pony up for a clear-bra...just wish they weren't dumb expensive.

Since it's in the body shop already get it sprayed I vote renew it and before hitting the highway get that clear bra! We had one done on our prev. car for $300. You can order kits yourself from ebay for a fraction of that.
A friend did his own that way and he rated it a 5 out of 10 on the trained monkey scale, it wasn't "perfect" or quite as nice as what we had done but all he had in it was a few hours and I believe about $50. And his (and our) front end survived several years on the highways with NO real damage.

Touch up will show up depending on what angle you look at it... I know because my bumper looks pretty chipped up as well. Def get the clear bra if you get a repaint....
I still havnt been able to justify the cost of a repaint to myself yet, but Id like to be able to at some point
