How often do you see 8's on the road?
#26
Pulled up right beside one the other day in a traffic jam. Some lady, you would think she would give me a wave or somethin. Nope, she didn't even look over. I mean, come on, we both have 8's and we are right beside eachother stopped. If that didnt **** me off enough, I needed to get over to the other lane about a mile up, due to a wreck. The bitch wouldnt even let me over!! I was not happy about this at all.
Anyway to answer the question, sometimes I wont see any in a week, and sometimes I'll see 5 or 6 in a day.

I see a variety of '8s around my neighbourhood and I also see them near where I work but since I work near a Mazda dealer I can't really count those. Our area meets also bring together a bunch of '8s on a regular basis.
I see two STIs in my work parking lot every day. I do not see a lot of Zs but I see the Infinity version a lot.

It's not like our cars are Ferraris or something that only the rich can afford. Our cars are a bargain and people are realizing you can get a great car at a decent price. So do not be too upset when you see another RX-8 on the road. That is just how life is.

If you want a car that will be rare I think you have to spend atleast $80,000+. It is pretty rare to see cars in that price range. But almost anyone with a career that pays decent can afford a $24,000 sports car.

In Limassol, a town of about 160,000 I see about 3-4 a day. They are very popular because they fall under a small car tax bracket thus making them very good value for money compared to cars of say 2200-3000cc engines. There is only one 350Z going around and it cost the guy over US$100,000!

I see very few in the Quad-Cities, but my brother-in-law said he sees them pretty often. We must hang around different parts of town.
My wife was in Southwest Florida last week and said she saw many down there in the Naples-Marco-Ft. Myers area.

If this were a Mustang forum, you'd have to ask if anyone has never seen another one. 8s are fairly common here in Northern Virginia but not like 350z, Corvettes, etc. And $hitloads behind 'Stangs of every year you can imagine. I must see about 50 Mustangs a day...I used to like Mustangs...

I was originally thinking about getting the new Mustang. I admit I like it's outward design. But a crappy interior and the fact that every sixth car is a Mustang sent me scurrying to the Mazda dealer.

I've seen surprisingly few in and around NY and, as a prospective owner, I look for them. I live in Manhattan and if I see two a month - on the road or parked on the street - it's a lot. I drive up to Danbury, CT twice a month - about 75 miles - and rarely if ever see one. Last Christmas I drove from NYC to Exeter, NH and didn't notice one going, coming back, or while I was there.

$80k? no way. Try buying USED. you can get a decent NSX for $24k or a modded RX7 for $20k - and they only imported around 15,000 of each. Or get a new Lotus Elise for $43k.
Not too many 8's around here (Chapel Hill, NC). I'll be adding mine to the mix next week! Can't wait.

[QUOTE=johnmichael]Wowsers, not sure where you guys live, but I see at least 4-5 8's in a single day down here in Louisiana... now I might see an SVT foc a couple times a week. [/QUOTE
what part of la?I'm from algiers and i might see 4-5 in a month if your from the east or west bank you know all we see here are mustangs and f150's that think they can take a vette. The only two 8's i see in New Orleans on a regular basis are good friends of mine.

Broward County, FL here..
2 years ago they were super-rare, maybe one a *month*.
A year ago, 1 a week.
Now, I see at least 2 or 3 per day.. and that's not counting the parked ones.
Seems lately I'm spotting 2 or 3 *per commute*.. so 4 to 6 per day.
There's 3 in my work parkinglot.. mine, a red AT, and a grey MT. Where I work is hardly the paragon of automotive excellence / taste.. so to see 3 8's in my parkinglot is quite the thing.

Mazda has really made a killing here in Texas....Well, in Killeen (Fort Hood) that is. I see at least 6 or 7 per day...probably the same but there are quite a few in the area. And I also see 2 other Shinka's besides mine. One has a weird pin stripe. It's too bad we all can't get together and have our own parade through town.
In the end, tt all just lets me know the others drivers have the same great taste in cars as I do...Be it old ladies or young punx. LOL!

Almost never...where I am in Chicago they are rare. I was actually just thinking this morning in comparison how many G35c's I notice. I probably see 4-5 G35c's a day, and maybe another 8 once a month.

Here in the Raleigh NC area, I see about 1-2 each day. On the way home from work I pass by a parked green Rx-8, there are a couple of VR ones around my neighborhood. Also, there are at least five Rx8 owners where I work.
Now across the street from my neighborhood there is a Nissan dealership with three new 350z and a couple of used ones. The new ones have been there at least 2 months, used around 4 months. It doesn't seem like they are moving too many Zs.
