I have never added oil. I just change it 2.5-3k(filter too)...when it needs a qt. I bring to dealer and they have not charged me and it gets free detail too.( I did not buy from them either!)...love it!

doesn't the manual say something like change every 7,000 miles??

Every 7500 miles for regular schedule, 5000 miles for "severe duty" (dusty environment, constant stop and go, extensive idling, very hot or very cold climate etc.).
No need to do it every 3000 miles, but if that makes people sleep better (and the oil companies + oil change places more rich), then so be it.
This is like religion, you can't discuss it in a meaningful way

Manual does say Scheduled maintnence every 7500 miles. However, it is recommended that you do a simple oil change every half of that. (3750 miles) Also most people like to get their first oil change when the new car reaches 1000 miles. But it is optional.

If I were like you guys, 5000 miles or more would be just fine.
Except one has to rememmber that you only change half the oil in a rotary.
In this case I would pick 3500 miles.

Question, What grade oil do you use? 5w-30? 10w-30?
I just got mine today and I opened the hood to look at engine bay and I got no clue how to change oil on this car.
Is it similar to other cars? Also do you only change half the oil like someone mentioned above? I should read my manual but I thought I would get help from you guys first. kkk.
Thanks in advance.
I usually did mine every 3500 miles on my previous car. I think I would do the same once I figure out how...

I told you folks - it's like religion. Everybody has their own way to see the topic. Whatever makes you happy. I go by the book (owner's manual) as far as the schedule goes. All other theories are just that - theories.
"Recommended" by who?

Just a note...the normal service is more of a "lite" service. Most people actually fall under the severe catagory.
Normal is for mainly highway driving with sporatic stop and go driving. Severe is for those who take short trips, and do more stop and go then highway driving. Since pretty much everyone commutes to work, pretty much everyone falls under the severe catagory...unless your commute is all highway to a job thats 100 miles away.
