I'm surprised at how many young uns are buying this car. When it fist went on sale, I thought it would appeal to middle age crises buying people, like me. I did'nt think it would appeal to 21-25 range. Mostly because of cost. Guess I was wrong.

There should be a poll after this one to find out how many people under 25 actualy purchesed their car with their earned money.
I have read a lot of people on the forums saying they actualy do, and only 1 or 2, was purchased by their parents.

Anyway. Great car for anyone at any age IMO.

Just to clarify, IN NO WAY is this indicative of the average age of an RX8 driver. Rather, it is indicative of the average age of RX8 driver’s using the web/forums/this site. This site, like others like it, have an obvious youth bias, which explains many things I read here...read into this what you will.
Hence why most responses here show an under 30 crowd as the majority. I'm willing to bet that not even Scion, the greatest youth targeted car brand of any, has an under 30 crowd as the majority.
I'm sure that Mazda HQ sets their target demographics, builds creative executions, plan media buys, etc. understanding that the under 30 crowd will be a minority.
Of course, we will see more under 30's owning RX8's as more become available used.
BTW, I'm 38.

On the forums most the members tend to be younger (under 30) but in real life driving around I see quite a few RX8's driven by older people and women. I'd say the true average is in the late 20's.
I myself am 23 but I'm also an account executive, MBA student and soon to be home owner.

27, bought at 26, paying myself of course.
Oh, and if you want some really amusing statistics, you should cross reference this with the number of 8 owners that play World of Warcraft. The demographic is similar
