How to safely and legally drift an RX-8
So, ever since you saw The Fast and the Furious, Tokyo Drift, you've wanted to drift your RX-8? But you know that street drifting is dangerous and illegal.
What's an RX-8 driftin' wannabe to do???
1. Go to Costco. Enter the toy section.
2. Find and purchase the "The Fast and Furious, Toyko Drift" Remote Control Action set. Contents include a scale model Blue and Black RX-8 just like in the movie.
Also included is the Ford Mustang model.
3. Insert batteries as needed and DRIFT!!
That's right, you too can pretend to be Neela (the chick with the RX-8) drifting the twisty mountain roads outside of Toyko. All from the comfort of your own home.
The kit even includes extra tires as we all know how drifing eats up rubber. The Rx-8 comes complete with the official Tokyo Drift paint and stickers. It even includes a chromed engine compartment with a "RENESIS" engine cover.
What you do with the Mustang is your own business.![Bash](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/bash.gif)
It's the perfect gift for that RX-8 Drifter on your Christmas list!

Zeb, you can get a battery powered RC (one of the better ones) for around $300. then the rx 8 body is going to run you about 50 bucks. But I see your point once you go gas powered the initial cost and upkeep skyrockets.

1:10 scale isn't as expensive as it used to be if you are ok with value kits and parts.
You can get away with everything in ready to run (RTR) format for 300-400ish. Cheaper if you know what used goods to buy. Online store deals are your best bets too than your local hobby store.
For me I'd rather fork up the extra dough to satisfy the speed cravings legally (I love nitro) and retain the long term fun factor than to buy one of those cheap toy thrills and lose interest after a week.
Like anything in life, speed costs money.
