How too.. paddle burnout

you have to put the transmission into launch mode (if it has one), but I don't know if it'll let you do them, I think so...
ferraris have the only passably decent clutchless sequential trannies, but as a general rule of thumb they suck ***, nothing worse than a stupid computer telling you what you can and can't do (and most of the time you can't do what you want to do) I've almost been hit twice in that kind of car because the computer decided I couldn't peel out, once a semi had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting me, the car just wouldn't accelerate.

I find it rather humerous that yur bud can afford $200K car, and doesn't have any knowledge about basic muscle car driving. Maybe it's just me, but burnouts couldn't be much easier...
as muya said, stand on the brake and gas it. I've read about some Ferrari's that have a mode override or "free" mode that doesn't use any type of assists and basically lets the car respond to whatever yur telling it too.
Another idea...owners manual.

US spec F430's don't have a Launch Control button, so he is going to have put it in race mode and just nail the gas in 1st gear. That is probably the closest he can get to a burnout. Instead of using race mode, he could use the mode that turns all of the safety stuff off, but not sure what result that will get you.
If your friend does this enough times he is going to end up having to replace that very expensive clutch. They wear much faster than the standard 6sp clutches from what I read.

on the steering wheel, there is a switch that can be turned to varying levels of control. Race, mentioned above, turns off tsc, dsc, etc... If its in race mode and you floor it, you will get plenty of tire spin. I wouldnt recommend tapping the break at all when doing this.

I wouldn't recommend doing burnouts at all actually, not with a paddle shifter.
Actually... if you want to do burnouts just use a mustang GT or something like that, you don't want to pay the bill if the ferrari breaks down... and I'm sure ferrari designers didn't have burnouts in mind when they designed that tranny

Step 2 involves experimentation in a dark supermarket carpark or the backroads in an industrial estate.....

He bought a Ferrari and has you post on a RX-8 board about how he can do burnouts in it?
Tell him to drive it off a cliff, or at least take the keys from him. He doesn't need that kind of car.

What's the harm in asking?
