Ok heres a new one...well atleast I think, I did a search but couldn't find anything. After my lovely V-day date last night, I start up my 05 rx8, go to turn on the heat (it was about 30 degrees outside). Put the fan on speed 3...nothing. try again, nothing. Push the vent source button...nothing. Also noticed the ambient temp display was completely off. So I drove home with no working HVAC at all. I go to start the car up this morning and viola..the HVAC works as if nothing happened last night. Hmm..didnt think much of it and drove to work. I get out of work later that day and start her up..go to put some heat on..and HVAC vanishes again. Midway through my 50 minute drive....it just comes back as if nothing was wrong.. Anyone know what is going on? Is my car possessed or just trying to mess with me? Anyhow..I'm taking it in to the dealership at 8 am tommorow morning. I;ll ahve them take a look at it and change the oil as well. I want them to change the manual tranny fluid with Redline. Is this a possible request? Also, what kind of 'symptoms' should i complain about so that they will flash my car to the latest version and perfrom all the latest TSB?

 

Sorry to necro this thread, but I searched and I'm having the same problem

After digging around some more I'm reading that with cars other than the RX8 this can be a result of the blower not connected properly, the blower dead, or the switch is caput. Any idea where these parts are on our car and how to get to them?
