Bought the eight in december

1st ticket (four hours after I bought it): 85 in a 55 (actually doing 92 cop gave me a break :| ). Talked my way out of it in court.

2nd ticket: 84 in a 65, went to traffic school.

3rd ticket: 104 in a 65, coming back from rotary revo, working on this one

Still drive like a maniac

P Daddy . . . I respect your ability to speed more and MORE after being given ticket after ticket, I'm not being fecitious. That is very cool. have fun with that 8. I have personally gotten mine up to extraordinary speeds, but I do not have the guts that you have. (Just try not to get caught any more ).

Got a V1 in the 8 but still figured it was just a matter of time before my luck ran out. Well I was right but for the wrong reason. Got a ticket in my explorer for going through a yellow light in traffic doing 20 in 50. First ticket in over 30 years of driving. Should I fight it?

I also find myself going faster in the RX-8 than in other vehicles.

Drove the 1st 13,000 miles w/o a radar detector, and finally got around to buying an Escort 8500 a month ago.

Best to be safe.

See if you can do some defensive driving to get the ticket dropped. In Texas, we can take defensive driving once a year to get a ticket dropped

definitely fight it, traffic lawyers cost say $250 for a good one with good win rate, your ticket would be atleast $100+ (possible $200 if ur doing 30 miles over limit), difference is little, but if your insurance ever did a check on you, or you changed insurance, they wont hessitate to bump up your insurance bout $100 a year for 3 years until it is off your record... a second ticket will bump you up even more...

Love the car. Love the Escort 8500. Saved at least $3000 in tickets so far.

One ticket - 87 in 55, written for 75 in 55.

Use radar, but if you don't put in one the dash it won't work!!!

Wow! I guess things are different in Seatle. Here in Miami ticket attorneys are a dime a dozen so they are extremely competitive with one another. Rates for speeding tickets start at about $65 and they mostly win or get your points dropped. The usual scenario is ajudication withheld, no traffic school, no points, and you pay a court fee (usually bout $100). Speeding tickets are a drag but between the attorney and court fees usually you pay around $200-$250 to get ticket off.; but zero guilt and no record. Oh and BTW knock on wood, no tickets yet.

$250-350 for traffic lawyer is inclusive of all cost, including the $100 court fee... but it still maybe more expensive than other states... also these are wins, not settled cases where the ticket doesnt go on your record if you stay clean for one year...

gotcha, here i guess the system is sick of the attorney's so it just isn't that easy for them to get you off fully, so the only thing the attorney' s promise you is no points. but seems a bit cheaper.

I got a ticket about a week after I got my 8, while giving my 16 year old son and his friend a demo ride! I was doing about 90 in a 45 zone! I was quick to admit brain fade due to exhileration with a new car, so he wrote me for crossing a solid line! This was the first ticket I paid without a fight - only $85! Fine example to set for a son just starting to drive - oh well...maybe he did learn something!
