By all means, get rid of the car as soon as possible. There are MANY people out there that will do anything to give it a good home and treat it properly and in return, will get to drive one of the best cars in its price range. Enjoy your 'other' new car. Cheers.

I live in Calgary, and it was -30 something last week and my 8 runnning no problem
, that why they come with a heated seat? no low end torque? that I agreed, but that also why the 8 redline in 9000 rpm! and what do you mean if you like nice interior don't buy this car?
I think we have the nicer interior for the money man! that is if you get the GT model with the back/red interior. anyway, best of luck for your new car purcahaed.

No- let me take that piece of **** car off your hands... I'll give you $5000 for it! That way I'll have two RX8's, one for the winter and one for the summer. Apparently yours wasn't one that was made for the winter, so I'll keep my trusty winter-ized RX8 with the snow tires. Thanks for stopping by, and don't let the door hit your troll *** on the way out :D

ME... ME... My card is raised... I'll give you $6000 for that piece of crap. Maybe I can sell it for parts are something. I'll pay to have it shipped here cause I wouldn't want to drive it in the cold. Long trips in that stupid car would be painful. I would hate having people look at me all the time. Oh, could you please cover the interior with a sheet or something so I don't have to look at it? Call me at: 1-YOU-DUM-BASS

In his defense, I just read another thread yesterday from some guy in Canada who's also having bad cold weather issues with his 8. Of course, the pervasive response in that discussion was for him to go to a more competent dealer.

Sooo...Joeman, if you've got problems with your 8 in the cold, go to another dealer and see if they can begin to resolve your problem. If you're unhappy with the low torque deficiency, a) why didn't you test drive it before you bought it, and b) buy a turbo kit. And if you have a problem with the interior, well, just think that it could be worse. Has anyone seen the interior of the new Mustangs? Now that's horrible.

ok, here is the story

i have a wife and 2 kids. my wife drives a pacific, and
i dirve an explorer in the winter. my 8 sits with a trickle charge in the garage. i know it is not winter car, so i do not drive it in the snow. my daughter had a competition dance which she won and i MISSED IT. the is no snow on the streets so i loned my explorer to my brother and i was going to get the 8 out. yes, i revved it up to 4 before i shut it off. yes i floored it and turned the key for 8 seconds.
then i tried to strart it again. it chugged and filled the neighborhood with smoke then died even though i kept the gas going and revved. i got the car started later but missed everything. it is all my fault, yes i am a troll and a turd, i blamed the car when i am the one who bought the car. i missed something special and i was p*****off. she will dance again in a different city in a month. we will take the pacifica. the no low end is annoying but i can live with it. the cracking of the cheap plastic on the interior is common with all cars i guess in that price range.
i pointed a finger at other 8 drivers when i should of pointed it at myself. i have another year of payments then i will re-evaluate. i should of cooled down before i got out the poisen pen. joe

Well, sorry you missed your daughter’s competition dance. That would have bothered me as well. It's nice to know a little more about what made you react the way you did in your post. My hats off to you for getting back online after reading the post your thread generated. That's kind of like grabbing on to a wasp nest with a bare hand. Good luck with the 8.

Joe, I think you should sell your car. Given your winter climate, a WRX or WRX STI would be a better fit. You could get some use from it in the winter. I had a WRX, it was a good car but it does not come to life until it hits 4000 rpm so it may not fix your low torque issues with the RX8. I would in the near term take your RX8 into your local dealer and see if he can resolve your cold start issue. Do a search on TSB's on this site and see if any address your problem. There is a TSB on the 2004 Batteries that may be part of your problem.

Bite me Troll.......the car works great in the winter. I should know, its winter here for 8 months! The interior is fantastic and I like the sound of a high rev engine.

so with that in mind...**** off, hope never to hear from you again...TROLL.

I live in the Chicago area. It's colder than hell here, my car starts and runs just fine (on regular gas no less!), motors around in the snow just fine, my interior is just fine and it's got more than enough power for my use.

Hey, if you don't like it, sell it. there's nothing wrong with that.

I will repeat my earlier post, even though I don't need to.(Pad my post)
Sell your car, maybe someone who is dieing to get one can get this one from you, this way he is happy, and you can be happy with your future purchase. Any idea what you may want to buy next??

What a bunch of whining little fanbois in this post. The guy has had some bad experiences with his car, deal with it rather tha just being ********. Yes he came off harsh at first and prettymuch posted a rant, but damn... It's not like this is the first time that someone has complained about the interior not being durable, or flooding, or anything else he pointed out.

Man is everyone in here a bunch of ******* kids? Maybe this guys car isn't working out for him. Get off his back already. I love this car as much as anyone, but man it isn't a perfect masterpeice. It has issues like all cars, and for some people the issues aren't worth it. So get off yourself already. Let the man vent if he wants. This place is a thousand times worse then the prelude site (with a ton of kids) I was on.

I think its the way way in which he complained about it that invites the harsh responses. ...he deserved what he got.
