Well joeman, if anything I said was insulting, then "I Appologise". I didn't mean it to sound that way. Everyone has to vent I suppose....keep us posted on what you plan on buying to replace the 8.

I already had my "Bad Kharma" experience when I had my engine replaced. Since then its been perfect. ....and even when I had it replaced, I didn't whine like joeman about what a piece of **** the car was. I did complain that I missed the car but I didn't go online describing how the car had no torque and a crappy interior....things that you would think the guy would have noticed when/if he test drove the car!

I think that's the issue many people are taking offence to...the guy slams the car for things he should have been aware of when he purchased the car....and if he had posted more often than he did, people might not write him off as a troll.

Although flooding isn't a problem in Australia with our climate and PCM software, I rev to 3k and shut off if the car is not up to temp. I don't hold it there for ten seconds though, straight to 3k and then off. Where did you read of this ten second thing??? It can't be good revving a cold engine for ten seconds...

It's a statement like this that make me wonder about maturity. Who would ever wish bad luck on anyone else? A little more tolerance on both sides, please.

it was 40 degrees in my garage. i had to charge the battery 4 times. i followed cold start precedures to the tee. the car should start. this is a problem mazda should fix. to all the personal attackers, wishers of ill will and bad kharma all i can say is i wish you good luck in life. i really mean this next statement. if it is under 30 degrees and you wife needs to go to the hospital to have a baby, or there is some emergency or special event you must go to. i hope, no i pray that your rx8 will start. best of luck to all joeman

Take it easy folks... the only person here that we know is a troll is IkeWRX.

Responding one sentence at a time:
  1. It runs fine in the cold.
  2. Yep, it doesn't have much torque. What does that have to do with any of this?
  3. Its interior is as good if not better than other cars in this price range.
  4. Sorry you're tired of your car.
  5. It is a very good car in many ways and not so good in others.
  6. RX8s in general are dependable; sounds like yours is a lemon or has a couple unresolved issues

If that happened to me, I'd be angry also. However, most RX8s do not have any of the issues you've described... I've read only a couple stories of RX8s that didn't start when the cold-engine-shutdown procedure was followed.

All cars can malfunction and I suspect that the vast majority of RX8 owners will never have a problem starting their car. Hopefully Mazda will fix your battery problems. Anyway, good luck!

It's a statement like that that makes me wonder about a sense of humor. It was said in jest, lighten up. Besides it looks like he's already had his fair share of problems.

I got to say rx8 have very bad aircondition system, and i got whole bunch recall from the dealer, i wish i got the m3 instead of 8 but i put too much aftermarket money into the car, don't want to sell the car yet. as soon i have enough money, i'll sell the 8 and buy a better car.

Hey nothing personal but the interior thing... I don't think so. I was test driving bmws(X5) and benzes and those interiors are horrible, (1999 CLK55 AMG), for the price, only the high class models look good, every little piece of wood trim or extra is more money, alot more money.

On their way to the mountains the three Billy Goats Gruff had to cross a rushing river. But there was only one bridge across it, made of wooden planks. And underneath the bridge there lived a terrible, ugly, one-eyed troll.

Nobody was allowed to cross the bridge without the troll’s permission - and nobody ever got permission. He always ate them up.

The smallest Billy Goat Gruff was first to reach the bridge. Trippity-trop, trippity-trop went his little hooves as he trotted over the wooden planks. Ting-tang, ting-tang went the little bell round his neck.

"Who’s that trotting over my bridge?" growled the troll from under the planks.

"Billy Goat Gruff," squeaked the smallest goat in his little voice. "I’m only going up to the mountain to eat the sweet spring grass."

"Oh no, you’re not!" said the troll. "I’m going to eat you for breakfast!"

"Oh no, please Mr Troll," pleaded the goat. "I’m only the smallest Billy Goat Gruff. I’m much too tiny for you to eat, and I wouldn’t taste very good. Why don’t you wait for my brother, the second Billy Goat Gruff? He’s much bigger than me and would be much more tasty."

P.S. I know I can be immature, but isn't it irritating

There's a lesson to be learned here: When you buy a car in its first model year, you're a guinea pig... things can go wrong and you may get recalls (this is not unusual for most makes and models). Throwing a lot of money into modding a first year model car is unwise in the first 12 months because that's when most recalls happen (and you run the risk of being denied warranty work or you may decide you want to trade in for a newer version of the car, which would be especially costly with a modded car).

My RX8 was produced in Feb 2004 and the A/C works fine. Earlier built cars' A/C should've been fixed via recall. If your dealer is giving you a hard time, bring them a printout of the TSB. If they're still not helpful, complain to MazdaUSA.

interior thing

to clarify the plastic cracking interior comment, just do this test. take a finger and press on any place in the interior especially the console and you will a crack or a pop.

Same here- if after 14 months my 2 daughters haven't found a way to beat up the interior, nothing will... and mine still looks like new.
