Didn't know what I was getting into. It's just that there are pages upon pages of threads and everyone has they're own opinion... who has the time. Don't want to make a mistake on my new car. Guess I'll stick with the manufacturers suggestions.

Soooo... how many pistons does my rotary have.

You don't have to read every page, just sift through the info.

If you are serious about actually learning and getting different opinions, start here.

Odd, you may have violated forum rules by showing that degree of manners and responsibility.

It looks like you're going to get that oil thread anyway...but it won't be on your head.

Well, just another person's opinion...

Other countries go with different weights than 5w20, which was recommended for emissions use, apparently here. And we're apparently the country with the worst problem of premature failure engines.

Synthetic isn't recommended, it wasn't tested. Apparently it also doesn't burn as well during combustion.

So.. I've decided I'm personally going with Idemitsu 10w30. They've got a decent background with rotaries, so I figured they'd be a decent brand to trust. Again, just my opinion.

But, also, dealing with injecting oil in, and burning it, I'll personally be running the SOHN mod soon(Only got my Rx8 not long ago), so I can just add more Premix from Idemitsu, and have it burn that, and run the Idemitsu 10w30 oil without the OMP doing it's thing to that. Though I'll still premix with it, just for the peace of mind, I've seen rotaries torn down, running premix with the OMP, or just premix alone, helping compared to just the OMP.

Again, I'm not a master, that's just what I've seen with my own eyes. I'm not saying what I do is right or wrong, or what anyone else does is right or wrong, I'm just compiling some information/opinion here for you.

Oh, and if you're seriously wondering...

The Rx8 uses two rotors, that each have three faces.

Here ya go.

By the way, welcome to the forums.

Oh, I dated a girl from about where you're at, haha.

Sorry, I had to.

Oh, and really, I just skimmed a bunch of the threads myself to come to my opinion. Just throwing it out there.

Hey, just making sure. There comes a time in everyone's life when they learn about the rotary, I was just making sure you've reached that point.

10-4. I used to have an RX-7, but did not know how to take care of it. Don't want to repeat any mistakes.

Looks like they are having a go at me on another thread.

Yeah, I tend to get on after work, which I'm about passing out at the keyboard, but I still try to be helpful, so ignore when I completely miss things, haha. But it's all good.

And yeah, I think people are just in the mood for spoof threads lately. The other guy with the Camaro though, now that was actually funny, but he really had it coming.

In all honesty, I'd say it's something worth forgetting, people like to mess around on car forums often, myself included. I just want to go to sleep, I just got home from work a bit ago. 12+ hour shifts ftl.

God, that shows my priorities, sitting here before passing out...
