I did it!!!
After lurking around this site for over a year, I finally pulled the trigger 2 weeks ago. Black 6MT base. Haven't own a rotary car since my 86 2nd gen RX-7. Sure missed the buttery smooth rotary feel. Still breaking in using Racing Beats methods. So damn hard keeping the Rev under 4K. It just wants to move. :D
My baby.

Yea, I've been lurking the mod sites lately but my other car (a 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport) is all sorts of having engine/brake problems right now, so my money is being sucked in that direction... oh well, my Shinka is only 5 weeks old

I've only owned 1 black car in my lifetime and I swear I have ulcers to prove it. Every little smugde, every little imperfection just screams at you. Ah, but when it's clean........
I almost broke down and did the black 8 thing myself. Found one nicely equipped at a dealer, it had just been cleaned and put in the showroom and my heart stopped for a moment. But, alas, I remember too well the stress of keeping it looking that way.
Super-nice looking 8. Congrats!!

Thanks, guys. Did my first mod. Racing Beat oil cooler and condenser screens. Got to protect my new baby first.
No use doing any power mods now since I'm still breaking her in. Next up, sound system. OEM MP3 player and all new speakers. If the new speakers don't give enough bass, I will probably add amp and a 10" sub.
Yea, black cars are a bit@h to keep clean, but after a bath, AHH!. This is my fifth black car. I kept telling myself before not to buy another black car. When I saw the black 8 at the dealership, all bets are off. Just couldn't resist. :p
