Yea, thats me! But some other douchebag backing into (on three seperate occasions) doesnt make MY car any less reliable or cause any issues with function, so I regard my ownership as problem free. So what if it was in the shop for 5 weeks at one point, when it was on the road it ran perfectly!

Mazda needs to step into the 21st century and include anti-douchebag protection in their cars. What is this, 1952?

LOL! I wish dude! Been hit 3 times in 3 different parking lots, all by some idiot who was backing out/ making a turn and not watching where they were going. Worst part is two of them got off scott free... I wouldnt need anit-douchebag capablilites if the police here would do their Fing jobs.

While I love my 8 your fondness for your car leads me to believe you need a human partner to cuddle with. In anycase I love mine also, I have had it now for 4 weeks (2006) and have had 0 problems so far, well except squeeky brakes.

well that's one reason why i opted for a lightning yellow rather than a dark stealth. i have no problem with people seeing my car and i always know where i parked it. i've seriously walked out of somehwere with soem firends and said, "so guess which car is mine". a yellow car sportscar really stands out in a sea of white, black, grey and other dull colors. even red doesn't stand out like yellow does.

too much to read so I'll try and dumb it down for others

I have a 6mt 10k on the odo. Over the past 9 months of ownership, NO ISSUES
I'm responsible
I drive the car HARD including hitting the redline.
*mushy sweet **** here, the car makes me happy, no worries blah blah blah pie blah*
I work on my car for fun it makes me smile and stuff.
customizing it yourself is cool (not to be confused with rice)
I meet people with the same car, we are friends, I need a hug.I knew this car would eat money but it's worth it.
I won't sell it.
It's my first rotary. I like to tell myself I'll get a 20b [even though I probably never will be able to afford the engine/install and my handling will become shitty and make it like any other front heavy sports car.]
I love my car and it makes me happy. In my area it's rare (I don't live in atlanta where Rx-8s are 100x more common than 350Zs) and I can't see myself driving different things.
Not just anyone can own a car like this (unless they have the funding) when I see others, me and other driver have a little "moment" but not in a gay way.
To all you bitches who complain about the usual:
You don't deserve it.

At the suggestion of one of the racing books, I've been practicing holding the steering wheel using just my fingers. The idea is to get better feedback from the car, suspension, tires, etc. What strikes me the most when I'm doing it is how incredibly smooth the engine feels as it winds up. It reminds me of what Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear said: "It doesn't feel like it's running on anything as coarse and vulgar as petrol. It feels like it's running on double cream."

Why do people need to praise a car? Why do people feel the need to re-inforce upon themselves love for a car? It's JUST a car. It has faults-a-plenty. It happens to be pretty fun to drive - if previous car (93 Miata) had more power, it would have been More fun to drive than my rx8.

Stop being so defensive about people commenting on the car's failures, folks.

For the record, I can't see myself EVER buying a car because of RESALE.

If it wasnt so funny I might be offended... it is rather 'to-the-point' though!

Listen, nobody get me wrong, Im not some fanatic who needs a hug, I just really had it yesterday. Some guy with a 20 something post count and NO problems with his RX8 was starting another Class Action Lawsuit thread, and after reading that and 3 threads complaining about resale value, well I kinda went off the edge and posted something as polar opposet as I could. It probably seemed a little childish, a little whinny myself, but that wasnt the intention. So yea, Im not a ********... I just really like my car, and really dont like people who own it and bad mouth it

Congrats, well said, I agree. Even with its shortcomings the 8 is a beast and is fairly rare on the roads. Turns heads all day long and mine is still stock!!

Dude, loosen up. Learn to take a joke. I made sure not to type anythn9g incredibly offensive. Sorry if it was the 350z comment, even more sorry you were born without a sense of humor.

FYI, I'm a junior, you were off a year.

Let me save you your response: "Whoopty ******* doo, I was only off one year, you're still young."
