Wow... I was actually going to make a thread about this. 50/50 highway city, I get about 23.7mpg But I was in a massive traffic jam and did a huge amount of short trips. I'm sure I can get more than 500km from our measely 55litre tank.
Filled up 52 litres of 91 Ultramar.
Using 5w30
I don't baby it. Daily redlines, pretty hard turns, etc. But I use cruise control on highway
Stock Potenza's... 225/45zr/18
6 speed manual
470km on 50 litres or 13.2gallons which is about 23mpg
Missing anything else?
EDIT: Forgot to mention that my MPG gets better everytime for some reason... when I first go the car I got exactly 19.5mpg, now it's going higher and higher. Maybe it's due to cleaning up all the oil in the intake?

Well maybe a bit.
Nah, not really.
Who am I kidding? I did cheat sometimes and passed them at 150 km/h (93 m/h) uphill, just to show them what my 8 was made of (and also to heal my ego somewhat ) 'But it was all part of an experiment' lol

How are you canadians calculating MPG when you full up by the liter? And secondly, are you using an american gallon or the imperial?
I just don't see how a stock car gets anywhere near 26, even if the've got the cruise on 60ish.

I've gotten 26-28 mpg with very conservative, all-highway driving at 65 mph and US gallons on my MT. Pretty boring, but it is possible. Best I've seen reported here is 29 mpg.

take whatever amount you fill up at the station / 3.785 = gallon.
(50L/3.785 = 13.21 gallon)
take whatever km your trip meter tells you / 1.6 = mile.
(350km/1.6 = 218.75 miles)
218.75mile/13.21gallon = 16.56MPG
Wow, I just realize my first tank of gas has better mileage than I thought. I was expecting 14mpg for break in period. :p

Good point since I did not specify which one I used. According to this site http://www.euronet.nl/users/grantm/frans/fuel.html my 8.99 l/100 km equals to 26.2 mpg (US) or 31.4 mpg (Canadian). It really is confusing with all those different standards
I think it's screwed up by using liters/100km (liters needed for 100km).
If they use kms/liter (kms ran from 1 liter of gas) would be easier to understand.
It's reverse of mpg in idea.

Yeah... for awhile I was calculating imperial and I was like 28MPG?! How was that possible? Then I calculated it to US standards and was a miserable 23-24mpg. Going to try to see the best I can get.

A few weeks ago we took a trip to Cape Cod with two friends. Cruise control set at 72 mph, the Acura CL-S got 32mpg, the rx-8 got 24mpg and the 911, a 30 year old car with no cruise got 28mpg. So, twenty-something is possilble in the Mazda. You just can't have too much fun while doing it.
