i got more questions....
~I don't remember who told me this but they said that the infini flared urethane body kit was a replica and I was wondering how you can tell the difference between that and the original; and what is the original called?
~What is the difference between a Shinka, regular rx8, and a GT?
~If I plan to race and should I get it turboed? Can an RX8 beat a 300zx, 240sx?
~I really can't decide between 6spd auto and 6sp mt.
~What the heck is flooding, my friend explained it to me, but I don't get it. And do you guys check the oil everytime you get gas, cuz I heard you're supposed to do that.
~What, in your opinion, are the best rims? and why do people not like chrome that much, and wat if it was black?
Ok that's it for now. Don't wanna get too annoying!
Thanks a bunch guys!!

He's as bad as Can
You know it's a shame Evel Knievel passed away, a true unique American, what does everybody else think? Boy I sure had hours of fun with that stunt cycle.

2 - If you look at www.mazdausa.com you can find info and options for the "regular rx8" and GT. IIRC those are for the 2008 but it should be about the same. I don't know enough about the Shinka to give you all the specifics.
3 - What races? Drag? 300ZX twin turbo? 300ZX non turbo? 240sx year and model? Modified or not? What are you expectations of the RX8 in terms of speed and power? Look at the aftermarket performance mod. section for more info.
4 - My mother is searching for an auto because she does not know how to drive MT and she works in Manhattan so she will be going through bumper to bumper traffic. From what i read, auto is slower and much less fun (in many people's opinion, a waste of a car). I drove an 06 Auto 6spd and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be after reading about the rants on the forum, it was more than enough for regular driving and highway passing. I haven't a manual RX8 yet so i can't compare. 6spd autos come from 06+ with a 6 port 13b-msp (more powahhh!), while 04-05 come with 4 spd and 4 port (less powahhhh).
5 - even though it's an RX7, it gives you the same concept of flooding and unflooding.

6- IMO chrome don't belong on sports cars because they look out of place. If you have the money then ditch out for Fancy Volks, BBS, Works, etc etc. There is a Wheel section with many "wheels" and pics you can look at. The color and look will be your own preference. I have different "favorites" when it comes to rx8's and their colors to match.
Oh yeah, i call dibbs on search button.
Use the search button!

so like since the 8s are so light, it wouldnt be a good idea to ride in snow, ice, rain right? cuz the heavier it is the easier it grips the road? but it doesnt matter in ice? am i right?!??!

~I don't remember who told me this but they said that the infini flared urethane body kit was a replica and I was wondering how you can tell the difference between that and the original; and what is the original called?
---just fitment and quality- most knock-offs need a lot of body work to fit right, and the gap to the rest of the car might be off. i think the mazdaspeed body kit is an original if it's got the gray trim paint along the bottom edge of the part.
~What is the difference between a Shinka, regular rx8, and a GT?
---just surf mazdausa.com - basically GT adds a couple interior features like heated seats, upgraded stereo, leather trim, etc - nothing to the engine or anything; shinka is just a special edition -- i think it had cream leather, came in special exterior colors ... again, nothing to the engine or anything like that.
~If I plan to race and should I get it turboed? Can an RX8 beat a 300zx, 240sx?
~I really can't decide between 6spd auto and 6sp mt.
--if you plan to "race", don't get an auto, simple as that. auto is ok, just not as fast, but if you do a lot of city driving or don't like to shift, i can see why someone would get it; but for more hp, more fun, and higher redline, get the manual.
---as far as beating a 300zx (don't plan on racing a 350z, you'll lose -- you might hang with one, but you'll lose), but i don't know about the previous gen z. it was fast for its day, but you should be able to beat it. really depends on the year and mods -- most 300zx's and 240sx's will be modded, but they both run 0-60s near 7 seconds stock if i remember correctly. so you might need to add a few things to the 8 to compete if they're heavily modded, but stock for stock you should be fine.. a turbo and you'd probably pull on a lot of cars - some minor things like light flywheel, intake, exhaust, pulleys, etc would be a good start if you don't have money to drop on a turbo though. does "race" mean drag or track (please don't say street!)?
~What the heck is flooding, my friend explained it to me, but I don't get it. And do you guys check the oil everytime you get gas, cuz I heard you're supposed to do that.
---don't worry about flooding - jut make sure you that you NEVER turn your car off unless it's properly warmed up. at least 2 or 3 minutes, unless it's really cold where you live, then wait longer -- you just can't turn it on, move it into a garage, and shut it off, that's all.
---i've had my car 4 years now, and i've NEVER checked the oil myself at fill-up. ftr, it's every other fill-up you're supposed to check it. some people do it religiously, i never have. as long as you get the oil changes at every recommended mileage you should be fine -- just remember the rotary uses more oil than a cylinder engine, so the oil change intervals are more frequent and therefore more important, so you NEED to get it done, don't skip them or try to crank out a few hundred or thousand miles ... just get used to getting it done on time and you should be good. the hotter the climate the more often you should do it i hear.
~What, in your opinion, are the best rims? and why do people not like chrome that much, and wat if it was black?
---i hate chrome, on any car, but especially not a sports car. it's just super cheesy to me. check the forum, you'll find chrome rims and black rims. black looks good i think.
these are all just my opinions, of course...

i.e. pick-up trucks are (usually) rear-wheel drive - if the bed is empty, that thing will fishtail on dry pavement, let alone rain or snow, b/c all the weight is up front! if the bed is loaded down and therefore has more weight over the rear wheels, it will grip better.

Snow tires can improve the grip when driving in the snow with the 8, but as 2tone stated, some extra weight in the trunk can also help. Some places actually sell sand bags for precisely this purpose. Not exactly sure where you can buy the sand bags, but I have seen them.

Since you're not getting the car for a while, just browse the forum and use the search button instead of just starting new threads. All your questions will have most likely been asked before and answered.

Just because she's a girl doesn't mean she can't search like the rest of us...Look at all the members that were flamed and got the "Search Noob!" responses. You don't need a ***** to use the search function.
