Unhappy I got rear-ended!

Hey guys someone rear ended me tonight
But luckily not much damage, its just the back bumper thats been damaged, and it is totally screwed. Its broken cracked clean in half!
Now I have to take it to get assessed by my insurance company, but as far as I can see its the bumper and only the bumper that has been damaged.

Has anyone else here had a damaged bumper? Was it a big deal to gte it replaced? I will have to get a whole new bumper, this one is beyond repair, I don't suppose the bumper will be prepainted, like the bits and pieces on the apperance package? Huh my cars only 3 months, old! Guess I will have to wait on the sway bars and air filter I was going to get until this gets sorted out........

in another thread someone said they had to replace their bumper - it came unpainted. Was only $250.

I was rear ended as well. The rear bumper looked mildly damaged, but there was way more damage beneath. With the body on, my estimate was $3k, once the bumpers were removed the total soared to $11k.

Good luck man! I feel your pain.

the rear bumper is cheap...

just call up trussville mazda. Shipping is the bitch. But the bumper piece itself is cheap. But it is UNPAINTED. A body shop should charge you anywhere from 200 and up to paint and install. Good luck!

I know it sucks because I had my 8 for one week and an idiot trucker hit me in the EZ pass lane.

Wow stangmatt I took a look at your thread and thats a whole heap more damage than mine!
As far as I can tel lits the rear bumper adn only the rear bumper. I guess a guy going 40km/h on a motorbike is gonna do a lot less damage than a big truck!
SO yeah hopefully its just gonna be the bumper.... I'll chuck some pics up when I get a chance this weekend.
