TN I have now officially joined the RX8 club!!!

So I bought my car, lots of back and forth, but I ended up paying $11, 650 for the car and tax, title, and license. She's got a brand new engine, new cat, reinforced clutch, new starter, and for some reason these jackwagons didn't do the MSP16 upgrage, so they are doing it tomorrow morning and I'll be picking up my car tomorrow after work!

So now to start putting all this reading into practice. I've spent so many hours reading on these forums the last couple weeks, it's crazy. So anyone have any opinions on starting out with a new motor and everything? I've been looking at the premixes, 87 vs 92 octane, what oil to use, my god, so many decisions.

I'll post some pictures this weekend, can't wait to get into the cockpit, best part, we are going to have the nicest weekend we have had all month this weekend

Welcome to the club! I would definitely recommend using premium 91. Some have used 87 with no problem as well. A lot of questions have already been answered on this forum which i'm sure you'll have questions about, definitely browse around! Welcome!

Congrats! Now you need to get on the road over to the Tail of the Dragon. You'll love that car so much more after a couple of passes through the Smokies.

Definitely, I took her on her first ride today, lots of fun, got pulled over in my first 40 minutes of driving from Columbia back up to Cool Springs just before the Saturn Parkway exit He let me off with a warning when I told him I just bought the car and had a Honda Accord before this, I had no idea I was going 95, sure didn't feel that way lol. I'll tell you what, you go fast without even realising you are going fast if you don't pay attention.

So now that my noob moment is out of the way, I need to get on the ball with this car lol. An amazing piece of machinery, only has 40 miles on the new engine, so my guess is I need to drive her easy for a bit. What is the Deals Gap Rotary Rally all about? Looking through the website there isn't a lot on there. Who all is going? My only thing is that I'm taking a vaca to visit a friend in Richmond VA soon, so I wouldn't be able to get there until late (i mean late) Friday, almost better getting up early and going on Saturday.

Anyway, what's the skinny on the event?

Do be careful. As you experienced, it's wayyyy to easy to drive fast in this car and not realize it... But the cops do
Oh and welcome!
