Thanks a bunch, i just read it, interesting article and pretty much inline with my thoughts about the cars. I'd rather congratuate the RX8 for coming in first than be jealous.

I still think that realistically speaking for most people thats looking at the G35, very few would look at the RX8 or the SVT cobra. Theres tons of threads on g35driver.com about the lexus IS, Acura TL, bmw 3 series and how they compare etc, but not a single RX8 thread. On the other hand theres tons of S2k and RX8 threads on My350Z.com. Rx8 owners seems to compare their car to a wide variety of cars because the rx8 is is such a hybrid of features.

and I still see a more luxurious interior as the nicer interior. there is no definition for a sporty interior, what makes the RX8's interior sporty? a sporty interior should be spartan, and plain and utilitarian. The criterias of a nice interior should be based on the quality of martieral used, fit and finish, features, level of technologies and design. RX8's is not as nice, even the C&D article acknowledges that, and its a 03 G35 which didnt even have the aluminum and rosewood finish. The new interior is vastly upgraded. (and im not saying its the best interior ever or something, theres several cars in the entry luxury class with better interior than the G35)

well this guy is in the BX and like i said he has worked on many 8s before some of them the people want to keep the car street legal and dont want to up too much. his sugestion for me was a 10 pound turbo and intercooler system. as of what custom work he would have to do i dont know. he mention something about the engine block gettin too hot and bendind and something with the tranny, second gear or something. what i can do is go and ask him what he does to get the power, then post it. also get his shop info for guys that are interested. maybe even a price quote. the most even job i seen was on a yellow 8 that **** even had a cage inside

P.S. Playdoh43, my point was proven by other guys about the competition between the infinity/nissass and the Rx8. ofcourse they got luxury vehicles but those cars cost 50,000+ the G35 its the same price range as the 8 to the exact dot. specially the coupe. if you think about it why is the 350 nissan competition and the G35 is not????? they the same **** with different smells

lol ok 25375 starting price and 33050 starting price is "to the exact same dot."
if you say so. I think they are comparable if you want them to be, infiniti isnt anything special, its just a name. both rx8 and g35 are performance oriented daily drivers, just one is focused more on luxury and the other is focused more on light weight handling. Im just keeping it real when I say that i dont believe they are cross shopped much due to their market segments, which dosnt really mean jack. but due to the way they are marketed, they generally dosnt directly compete in sales.

reading that article is from C&D is great though, i really like the way they did their comparison and I can see why they picked it over the G35c for the reasons they talked about.

playdoh, I should have mentioned I haven't been in a G35 coupe for going on 2 years- however, the one I was in had a very ugly, plasticky-looking center console/tunnel thing. I see that it is now aluminum, like you said (may have been that way then too, just didnt look or feel like it to me). My mistake.

I like the car, I just like the 8 better. And I did cross-shop so called "luxury" cars with it.

i just called the mitsubishi dealership in bay ridge, brooklyn to inquire and ask about a possible test drive on their lan evo ix's. I pretended to trade my 8 in and was curious about how the evo drove in an attempt to lure me to trading it. Unfortunately, the guy said no because it's their policy. I wonder why their evo's aren't selling well...

btw, I was given a chance to test drive my 8 before I bought it when i admittedly told the dealer my manual experiance sucked.

I live in Dayton, Ohio. I know there are more in the area, but I have only seen 3 RX-8s...none of which are Nordic Green (my color)...there are many advantages to being unique.
