Angry I just need to vent some anger

Ok so most of you might know i brought my car in last week to get some stuff taken care of. Well this is how it is going.... The car is still getting around 11 miles to the gallon shitty very very shitty. I told them about the headlight film too( mine also has like a rainbow type color going on aswell with the headlights) they said it is on some rx'8s and they have to wait to hear back from mazda of the situation with the lights before they could do anything(BULLSHIT) i have read on here that dealerships have changed them out on cars. The rx8 logos on the running boards are coming up so i said hey why its in there they might as well just take care of it. Well they taped them down and two days later they are already popping up once again. The back tail light had some condensation in it. So they said they took it apart and cleaned the vents on it. i get the car back at noon, and am at work by 1 and what do i notice f***ing condensation on the inside of the light. And they also reflashed my computer while the car was in. So now tonight what pops up, yes my check engine light.....I mean what the hell is the point of having a car with a warranty if it does not mean ****? The headlights should be replaced, it is a defect and should not be like that out of the factory...the should be no questions asked about replacing them, yet i get the run around. The damn tail lighthas it not even an hour later after picking the car has the same damn problem. The shitty MPG again, the running boards... i mean this is all warranty issues and not one has been solved. Now im driving around with a damn check engine light on a car that does not even have 2000 miles yet that is just about 2 months old...what the hell is wrong with this picture?? i bought a new car because i wanted a warranty so that if something were to go wrong it will be fixed. But instead i get the run around and the same **** over again. Any advice would be great on this subject. And i am bringing the car back tomorrow morning to the dealership for this...I will bring the car in 4 times for the gas issue if on the fourth time it is not fixed i will claim lemon law. I have talked to my salesman that i bought the car from and he aggreed i should claim that issue if the car is not fixed. I love the car and all but getting 100 miles less then i should be to a full tank of gas is not right. A hummer H2 is getting better milage then i am, how sad.

I feel for you!.....Before I bought my RX8 the biggest thing that kept coming up in my research was just how bad the dealers are....they just don't have a ****'n clue!

My approach is to go straight to the top. I would find out where the owners office is in the dealership and make myself an appointment on the spot to discuss how pathetic his service department is and how much I am going to go out of my way to make sure as many people as possible know about it.

I have no respect for dealers that opperate in this manner.

Yes, Yes. I'm brilliant black also and i get about 12-13 mpg. My car just flooded and it took the dealer 3 days to fix. Mazda only covers 15$ a day for a rental car, F'n pathetic. My dealership refuses to call me back, so I am forced to call over and over again to see when my car will be done. i think the guys that handle the service are just comlpete idiots and that is why they have that job.

It wouldn't cost you anything to take it to another dealer since you're still under warranty, so go find another Mazda dealership in your area who will likely provide better service.

The Good Guy/Bad Guy section here might also help.

Gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. You need to find a new dealer if possible because they keep doing NOTHING to fix the car. Like someone else said...when you are treated that way you need to take it to the top, to Mazda, and to anyone that will listen.

Report them to the BBB...do what ever you need to do to fix the problem and don't let that dealership push you around, HOLD THEM TO THEIR WORD...and you will see what happens. Take names, take their statements on what they are going to do to fix the car and HOLD them to it.

Sorry man, it just sucks what you are dealing with. 11Mpg IS COMPLETE GARBAGE!!!! Something is wrong with the car NO DOUBT, when a Viper & Hummer get better fuel economy....SOMETHING IS WRONG!

Sorry again!

I'm starting to see that film on the headlights too. How many of you have had them changed? And is it covered under warranty?

I agree with rotten42. Escalate it up to the service manager and then talk to the owner. If you don't want confrontation, I suggest you write a letter and send it to both the owner and the manager. You'll be treated like a VIP afterwards. You shouldn't have to, but sometimes, these dealerships need to be taught. People have done it on here before.

Cas,
I got my HIDs replaced under warranty the same day I took it in for other minor issues. I'm surprised they had the parts in stock too.

Just go to another dealer. My dealer is great. Rental cars that don't cost me a dime. And never a hassle. They did have to take my car in a few times to get the A/C cold. But they gladly did it and called after each visit to follow up and see how they did.

Kudos to my dealer.

The headlights should be replaced. The taillights can be resealed in most cases, the dealer obviously tried and it didn't work. Can't be too good with the silicone sealant. You are entitled to new ones, I am pretty sure there are improved parts out there now. The MIL is most likely due to a bug in the PCM flash software. That was a Mazda mistake, unfortunate, but it happened. The dealer can update his WDS and reflash you again with fixed software.

For the other issues, you need to work on your dealer a bit. I don't think he is values you as a customer as much as he could...I agree, go to the manager. I feel most of these issues would not have been issues at all had the dealer handled his service a little differently...

My dealership is great too. Changed the headlingt lenses and repaired the AC problem no hassel. Car has always run good. Mpg is good. 18-20 city 24 hwy. I had a little trouble after the M flash but recently got the updated M flash and it runs great. Change dealersips. Sounds like thats where your problems are. There is probably a minor thing causing your your cel light to go on as well as the lousey mpg. Your present dealership just does'nt know how to read or do diognostic on the car

I've had terrible luck with the 2 dealers I've used. Only thing I can help with are the metal pieces on the running boards. Mine came loose twice, but I pressed them down both times really well and now a year later they are still fine.

Your gas mileage is awful, but it does improve with tiime.

Haha about the rental car. Yeah they gave me a f*cking ford fucos I complained!!! I hated it and they gave me a Passat it was better. Then second time I took my car for the same problem I asked them to not give me ford focus again. I bitched about it and Enterprise gave me Jeep Liberty. I didnt pay a dime. But I have friends that works in Mazda Service and Parts. I normally get major discounts. If you're a female this will work, just flirt with them lol.

BrilliantBlack8, I feel your pain man. But one thing - has your dealership ever checked your catalytic converter? Seems to me it might be plugged or burned out (especially if your car has flooded in the past, or if you bought it used and it was flooded by the previous owner) and if your cat is ruined, it would definitely hose up your gas mileage.

Just something else you might want to check... hope this helps.

Not likely. The vast majority of owners never have any problems... but most of the few that do post about them here and are very vocal about them. This makes it look like the car is trouble prone, and it isn't - especially if you follow basic precautions to avoid flooding. It's a unique car and needs a few unique treatments. Follow them, and you'll never have any problems.

Here's my two cents....

I don't think that anyone will want to help someone that is clearly angry. Although my dealership is close to incompetent, getting upset with someone for not having any common sense will get you no where. In my experience, I have been very understanding that of the issues I have had, although deep down I am pissed.

My appearance of patience and understanding has gotten quite good results. My 04 Sunlight Silver GT 6Sp has been in the shop a few times....M flash, squeaks and rattles, poor gas mileage, etc. I still don't have an answer for my poor mileage...14.5mpg at best over 14000 miles, and it's getting worse with the cold weather...I only managed 98 miles to 11 gallons this week in single digit weather.

Try and get your dealer/service dept to see you as a good guy with a broken car, instead of a pissed off customer. It really works.

just out of curiosity what dealer did you go to? Because Mazda will allow up to $26.00 a day rental, but it does need to be authorized by the service manager, or Mazda rep. first. but that couild be different in a different state possibly, but I know for sure in California it is $26.00 a day.

I just wanted to say somethng I don't want to start a flame war, but what city do you take your car too? The dealer should replace the headlight and tail light under warranty, without any problems, the running boeards right now we are taking them off and then cleaning off the old double sided tape and applying new tape, that has held all the cars so far exceot about 2 I can think off of hand that we had to replace. as far as the mileage goes, just from my experience my fuel sucked the first few thousand miles then got noticibly better im about 18-22 mpg now. depending on streets and freeways and traffic. Im not sure if you will actually get a dealer to fix this, they have "m" flash etc. but that is the ony fix mazda has on it, at this time.

26.00 a day..you are correct sir!!

The dealer is instructed to use a rental from the Ford family if possible.

I have followed the break in rules and have never flooded the car. Also i a guy on here checked to see if my car in the past had been flooded before i bought it and it never was. The car was bought new. Im sorry im following what they are saying and getting bad gas milage. and last i though a unique car wouldnt get 8 miles less to a gallon of gas. Hell if i wanted 11 miles to the gallon i could have got a viper.

My car got 14.1 when I first got it. 6500 miles on it and now I get 18 in the city and 22 on the highway. I just don't jam the gas all the time.
