I wish I could remember where it's from. MS version/concept or some such thing, but I don't know if that kit is even mass produced. There's a thread somewhere that has it, but damned if I can recall . . . media section somewheres

I have a black 8, but if you are scientifically-minded, hear me out.
An RX-8 heading towards you at a high rate of speed will have its light-waves compressed, due to the Doppler effect. That means that a blue RX-8 will appear to have more of this effect; so if it is heading towards you, a blue RX-8 will seem fastest.
On the contrary, though, once the car is heading away from you the waves are expanded, meaning it gets 'redshifted', and a Victory Red RX-8 will seem to be moving away faster.
Therefore, a Black RX-8 wins because it is faster coming towards you than a Victory Red one, and faster zooming away than a blue one.

Black will absorb incoming light particles, whereas silver reflects them.
That means that:
- sunlight from the rear will push the black car forward, but have no effect on the silver
- sunlight from the front will slow the black car down, but the amount of exposed painted area right on the front is negligible and much of it is the same colour regardless of the colour of the car
- sunlight from above will push down on the black car, improving its grip on the road and therefore reducing 0-60 times as well as improving handling much the same way a spoiler would
So the only advantage silver has here is that if you're driving off into the sunset, the silver car won't be slowed down as much. But that's okay - those of us driving the black cars don't mind taking one last sweet look back at the wives we're driving away from!
