I Love This Car

I Love This Car
Even with the recent issues, and although I only have 7,000 miles (winter stored) on my RX-8, I love this car.
I took it on a road trip last night to see a cousin who lives in BFE Michigan (he has a farm).
Smooth roads, 67 degrees, very few cars in sight, windows down...the sweet aroma of crops (and occassional cow and horse dung) in the air, and the sound of the rotary motor hitting all of its sweet spots, with the excellent headlights and gauges illuminating my field of vision.
Great handling at the apex, and a comfortable ride.
On nights like last night, it simply doesn't get any better.
What's not to love?
For a general use sports car, with a very reasonable price tag, and 2 functional rear seats, it simply doesn't get any better.
And I have yet to have ANY problems (even though it's still relatively new).
***I also picked up a bunch of incredibly fresh sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, and organically raised chicken and beef.

Me too, i love my 8. i think this thread is the perfect time to tell our 8's how much they mean to us. My 8 means so much to me, that i would take a bullet just to protect her from JDM GANGSTA's.

Everytime I take an on ramp to connect to another freeway, this car just makes me smile seeing every other vehicle slowing down while my 8 happily carves out the curves with least effort from my side. I wouldn't even dream doing that on my previous GP GTP.

I just picked up my 8 2 weeks ago. She's a slightly used 04 (only 19k miles). And every day I just realize what a great car the 8 is. I'm dumbfounded. I've never driven a car that makes me this happy. I saw a post somewhere about "you know you drive an rx8 when" and the one that sticks with me is:
When people say to you "nice car" and you just think to yourself "you have no idea".
I'm going on a road trip to Death Valley soon, and I just can't wait to spend some quality time with my 8.
Zoom Zoom!

who are you people, and what are you doing on the whiner's club site?
j/k A nice big, mischievous smile every time I get behind the wheel. And like OP mentioned - an incredible price for so much performance . . .

I have loved my car through 15,500 miles in 4 months. There is nothing better than not slowing down for the curves.
As for Johnny Law in the Ford Crown Vic. Just take him to the twisties and he will never catch you. You do need to worry about his friend in the air though.
