I Need Some Help Floorded? New Engine? Compression? What

I have a 2004 Rx8 Never had a problem with this car what so ever. Last week I moved it from one side of the driveway to the other, came out the next day to start its guess what? It wont start, So one here everyone told me it was flooded. I tried to do what everyone said did it almost everynight for a week. Not knowing enough about cars it just wouldnt start. I Towed it to the mazda dealer and he ran a compression test on it and said it was low. and apparently is waiting to hear back from mazda on recommendations to replace my engine? Please I need some advice anything help.

compression low = engine replacement.

it depends on the dealership you might/might not need to provide maintenance receipts.

So get them ready just in case

Ive read on here that being flooded also affects the compression of the motor cause all the oil is washed away, but once its de flooded and the car start back it will regain the compression once its oiled up inside again?

have never heard of that before, so im not sure that there's a definite correlation between the two.

from your story, i'd say it's flooded...and honestly just b/c you tried to deflood it (no offense) doesn't mean you did it correctly.

don't know of the correlation btwn flooding and correspondingly low compression...but if compression is low and you have a good dealership, you should get a replacement under warranty...

None taken, I more than sure I probably didn't do it right...or long enough or whatever. the dealer said that if it came back like that I would have to pay for cores and plugs and stuff.....any idea of what the cost would be to me if i got it replaced? And a 2004 with 76k miles on it? What everyones opinion on getting a engine replacement? Looking for help cause I know nothing.

do some searches on this site (search box in upper tool bar of homepage).

i got a replacement engine on a '04 around 48k, help up strong for about 30k now. some horror stories w/ replacement engines, but mostly good i think.

if you have to pay for new coils and plugs, try to by them yourself through a vendor here and bring them to the dealer...that way you get them at cost...the dealer has a crazy mark-up. search for 'bhr coils' if you want to upgrade...although i'm not sure if the dealer will install them for you or not during the replacement engine labor.

i think you having to pay for a few things is "normal"...but keep an eye out b/c the dealer WILL rape you on mark-ups. if you can buy coils and sparks yourself and bring them in, that'd be best i think. search around the site for vendors...

When you do get it fixed, DONT do this ever again. That is the #1 way people here flood their engine. Every RX-8 owner needs to know that you cant do this.

ya I dont ever want to do this again, Ive had a couple short trips before like more than 30 ft less than 30 secs and never had that problem, now this is crazy to get it fixed and been a week without a car. From being flooded i think to the dealer telling me a might need a new engine?

What labor? Mazda covers the engine and the labor to replace them.

Ask them what the labor is for. I bet they will try to pull some bs on you.

As for plus and coils. You can get them anywhere.

Plugs about 60 bux for all 4

Coils if u want oe box it's around 150. If not then it's about 70

i found a website rockauto.com coils $115, spark plugs $64, and Spark plug wires 30 for total of 210. I can buy them anywhere and take them to the dealer and say you can use these right? So everything should be covered by Mazda is there any number that I should call? or anything?
