At idle its suppose to be 15-16. As the load increases on the engine it should go down to 13-14. Also you should of gotten a CEL of some kind that could help you out on troubleshooting it. Did the CEL blink when you were racing? If it didn't then the knock sensor wasn't going off so you probably just flooded the engine real bad.

You also might want to take a look at your ignition coils while you're having your car tuned. The new ones are out and are pretty cheap.

yeah my CEL began to blink when the car choked.

I sooo hope its just Super flooded.

Right now, i went to my car again, to try and start it... and even before I tried turning it on... it STILL smells like 91.

is that a good sign?

I believe the CEL will blink when there's a misfire. Several things can cause a misfire including if the mixture is too rich to ignite correctly.

It sounds like you just might luck out. Won't know until tomorrow when you get it to the shop and they scan for codes.

If my car starts tomorrow, Its off to the shop for a full tune and turbo timmer.

worse case scenario:
My car wont start, I go back to my room. lay down... get super mad, get drunk. Then call my ex and talk dirty to her... then Call Mazda roadside assistance and have them take me somewhere that heals the pain .

I have no idea. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. You could always attempt the deflooding procedures and it just might start. Also if you pull the spark plug and it smells heavily of gasoline it is most likely flooded.

I'm not sure what AFRs you guys run but isn't 13-14 on an untuned car just asking for trouble? Hell, even on a tuned car for that matter. I'm assuming you'd want to be somewhere between 11.5 and 12.0.

Erm if I remember correctly from rotarygod, pull-starting a flooded rotary is surefire way of deflooding it. Have a buddy pull your car slowly and slowly let out the clutch in 2nd.

Then again I don't know if that will mess anything up if it's not flooded so maybe do some more searching?
I believe Mazda roadside will only tow you to a dealer. If it comes to that I'd get it towed to a rotary shop, find out what's wrong and if need be have them take it back to stock and then go to a dealer. =/

If it would be just flooded now, then the question is: why did you lose power while racing?
I'm obviously no expert, but it sounds like something else might be wrong. This doesn't seem like just a simple flood.

Sorry to hear this my man. Same thing happened to me right near you. I was getting on the 134 to the 5 when all of a sudden I lost power, and my car sounded like a tractor, and the EGT's shot way up. I would drive for about a mile or two at about 4000 RPM and the CEL light would flash, and I would dial it down. I made it to the Fry's parking lot, and called roadside assistance, but they will only take you the nearest Mazda dealer. Sorry, to hear about your problems. Believe me when I say I understand.

THAT IS TOO F*CKING LEAN!!!!!!!!!!!

If that was your AFR, you shouldnt have been driving your car
also
you should definetely have not been driving it hard (under boost)

rrrrrrrr. another blown motor, and in the end mazda will be blamed for making a weak motor - when once again... its user error.

Yeah, I got a new engine, had them put it in, and pull all the other stuff out. I'm NA now. Looking to just get a little more hp out of it without going FI again. Just a shitload of trouble from the Greddy kit.

Sounds like what happened to my buddy a while back. How much boost are you running? My buddy has a 2nd gen 7 and has blown stock apex seals before on 10 psi. He knew exactly what it was by the sound the car was making. His fuel setup was the cause of the problem each time....leaned out up top. He said the last time it happened his car lost power under acceleration while racing a mustang. He recently added a wideband & 3mm seals. I just picked up a boost controlled paxton fuel regulator for him....courtesy of a guy I know who bought out paxton. After he gets everything setup right he will have it tuned to 15psi.....daily driver.

Another vote for blown seals. Happened to a friend of mine on the interstate - sounded like it was going to start again, but we couldn't get anything to work. Good luck with it!
