Maybe you just like a car and someone else likes a different car. Maybe we don't need to create stupid terms just to feel like we're more noble or educated or sophisticated than someone else.

It was referred to as a RX-8 enthusiast, which means a person enthusiastic about the 8, which I think is a completely accurate term.

Enthusiasm can be expressed without jumping up an cheering. That form of behaviour could better be described as cheering. Perhaps that would make the person a cheerleader, not an enthusiast.

Back to Romeo. Even at 12 I would be concerned. Turbo and high compression begs for a higher safety margin or some really precise tuning.

Edited out more street race bragging...Romeo, you didn't smoke anyone, your motor BARELY survived a street race. The only reason this thread is still alive is as a wonderful bad example.....S

it was a black s2k. tinted tail lights, black wheels? I think.. Convertable and some bright *** HIDs.

the dude was pretty friendly.

I think he exited on Lankershim off of the 5-South

so wait, when someone says your car is untuned, romeo, are they saying that you put a bunch of OEM stuff on it, then when out racing without calibrating and adjusting everything? holy crap, man. that seems pretty retarded.

this thread gives me a headache.

anyway - romeo
you said you had it set to 6lbs of boost - so im assuming you have a boost controller? what kind do you have

what im getting at is if your boost controller is set to 6lbs, and you boosted to 10lbs - you didnt set it right, thats why im asking you what kind you have.

and just pm me hte response - i dont want to have to read more of this thread.

First of all, bashing is not helpful that is how we loose 8's in the community, who is worse the uneducated or the ones who look on and laugh. Take the high road people, he made a mistake, he is lucky the motor flooded and is now getting it tuned. I do know that the 8's are still being made but I still have the same out look as I do on the 1st gen RX-7 forum about wanting as many of them on the road as possible because then mazda may expand the rotary line again.

In the end I know I ask too much tho. Peace

You took that award with your first post. Street racing with untunded turbo installed doesn't exactly reek of genius or good judgement.

You're lucky you still have an engine. Well, a functioning one anyway.

Learn from it and move on. Get a tune, race on a track and take care of your 8.

Sounds good.
You can probably work on the "driving around" part and get it up to 14:1, as long as you are in vacuum.
Switching to "matrix" mode will give you more control.

You can get another 15-20 hp by getting it tuned though.

Definately. You can get it to run smoother as well.
But it probably won't blow up as it is, which is a good thing.

Probably. There is always the possibility, however unlikely.

Having just had mine tuned, the power out of the box was 250 range, after tuning it was 270 range, still afrs at or under 12 (depending on the rpm range), so it's definately money well spent.
