Thanks for the bump. I missed this the first time around, so it's my first time reading it.

The author is spot on, saying it a lot better than I ever could. I liked the line "you either get it or you don’t." It reminds me the Jeep tag line, "It's a Jeep thing", but in this case it's an 8 thing.

Normally, I change cars after a year or so. I'm past two years now with my 8. Any time I get that itch, say a BRZ or something, I look at my 8 and think "naw, I'll keep the 8". Surprisingly, my wife said the same thing. The sound of the 8 kinda scares her at redline, but I guess it scares her in a good way

Sure, there are two-seat, 300hp sport coupes you can get in the $30k USD range, but an honest drive in an RX-8 will leave you wondering what group of pucker-assed wannabes decided a “true” sports car can only have two seats.
We love the wannabes lol

"It’s a driving experience so pure and so fulfilling that it almost feels like you’re cheating when you get it for so little money."

^This....

I was the only import to place at a car show today...company included Audi R8 and Nissan GTR... yep, feels good.

Great article. I honestly doubt my car sometimes on certain aspects, but reading articles and reviews like this always restores my faith into the car.

Thanks for the bump as others have said. Confirmation that I have superb taste in cars is always nice. Lol.
Jeremy Clarkson for all his faults has great taste in cars having picked the MX-5 and the RX-8 in his top 16 ever. All the rest were silly money!
