I want to rent an RX8!

Surely he could take one for a test drive, and tell the sales guy hey, I want to take some pics to show my wife? A lot cheaper. Heck I put 20 miles on mine.....went EVERYWHERE......

Never underestimate the power of ignorance. The mark assumes a cashiers check can't bounce, pays their own $600, then finds out the cashiers check was no good a few weeks later.

$400 just to take pics?
I thought he said...."Anyone in the Central California area interested in renting their RX8 for ONE day for about $400.00 or so? I want to take some pictures."
....to me renting means payment is made to the owner of an asset for the use of that asset, e.g. paying a fee to occupy someone else's house.
Unless I was with the car the whole time, I wouldn't entertain it.

There is never any reason why someone would need to have you do this for them. They need to go on to the Internet to find someone they "trust" to help them??
A type of reverse 419 scam.

I would certainly do it, If all I had to do was park the car somewhere public without the keys, and he would detail it, take pics and lock it and leave.
But then again, fi this whole thing is legit, he could jsut be a good talker, walk into a dealership, and get THEM to detail a car and let him borrow it with a tag, take pics and bring it back for FREE, as long as he credited them.
I know some of my old dealerships had similar agreements with Motorweek, on Maryland Public Television....

lol @ totally obvious scam. If you want to take pics, go test drive one and you can take all the pictures you want. I would certainly hope no one here is dumb enough to hand over their keys to a shady "member" here with 2 posts.

And days after the police find the car with a kilo of coke in it, after it's been shot at, rammed into, and drowned in a lake, how much can we charge for late fees?

There are so many scams out there these days the fact is the bad guys roam the internet and want our passwords, credit card details, social security numbers, home address, date of birth and even your mother’s maiden name, if they have the opportunity.
The rest is history....
