Anyway, got my windows tinted about a week ago and wanted to go with the legal limit in North Carolina: 35%

I've seen the tint before and knew that It's be fine for me. Well, I got mine back and tint didn't really look all that dark at all. We've got a tint tester and the shop i'm at so I test it... reads 45%

So now i'm like "what the frig" I'm going to call those idiots tomorrow and find what the deal is...

 

That sucks. I got my tint for free. I made that sales man work that day.

 

what did they do for you to get it for free?

 

the tintshop had to have installed a 50% for it to read 45%. the factory glazing drops the VLT a few percent. mine has 32 installed and it meters at 27. if 35% is legal and that's what they said they were doing, then you should take it back and biatch up a storm.

 

Yeah, Here in NC you are allowed 35% +/- 3%. So I don't think they'll have much to stand on... pretty messed up. The funny thing is that this is the place that everyone says to go to. They did a great job, but just put the wrong tint on...

 

I got the right shade but they're going to have to reapply the back as it's got bubbles in it. I know of a bunch of people that have had to take their cars back to whatever place they had it done at.... never done it by myself but you'd think they'd wanna get it right the first time since they'll have to redo it for free.
