if you buy an 05 rx-8, will they update the navigation to the 06 one? according to the sticky thread about the changes theres supposed to be voice activated navigation.

No, but if you buy an 05, make sure you get it in writing that they'll give you an updated nav disk. The current ones are 2002, and the news ones ("due out any day now" for the last year will cost $200)

 

If Navigation doesnt come on an 04 from the factory can Mazda install it as an upgrade? Or does all that have to be done from the begining at the factory? I cant see my self paying what it'd cost for the upgrade, Im just curious.

 

no it has to come from factory. there have been one or two people that have got all the necessary parts from wrecks thru mazmart and done the install themselves but you really dont want to do that. you have to rip the interior out and put it all back together. if you want factory nav get a car that came with it from factory

 

wait for the 06 more power and goodies on for an auto
