Im scared to go to a car wash for that exact same reason.

But sometimes I'm just so lazy to get out there and spend 3 hours doing a basic wash... Attention to detail is a curse >.<

Sometimes that doesn't work. I took my car to my local dealer multiple times gave good reviews after basic warranty work was done and what not.

Then when i had an actual problem which i still never got fixed. (I have a syncro problem shifting from 3rd to 4th above 7500rpms it will grind.)

I was under b2b and told them about the problem that its grinding. They said they coulding replucate it or anything. I said its there and also my transmission sounds like its chirping when the clutch is released. They said they hear nothing. And told me I have to sign a piece of paper allowing them to open up the trans to look at the syncros for problems then also check out the sound. I was like how are you going to hear for the sound when the transmission is out of the car and opened up.... No reponse to that besides if they dont find anything I will have to pay for 23 hours of labor at $115 per hour and it will not be covered under warranty.

Without pictures I have a hard time envision the problem. That being said my '06 sees a touchless car wash once a week or bi-weekly and I've never seen scratches inside of the headlight covers.
