Im thinking of buying an RX-8

I want to know what is the proper way to maintain the renesis or if there are proper techniques on warming up the engine or anything else. I heard these engines are picky and will break if you dont maintain them in the proper manner.

Just stay on top of the oil and dont stall it or turn it off while its cold.
They need a little oil every 1k-3k miles depending on driving ect. Dont run it hard till its warmed up, and thats about it.

I am also thinking of getting the greddy turbo kit, how long should I break in a brand new 8 before I throw boost at it. Also I want to know how much boost the Stock 13b can handle, I know that 6-7 p.s.i is what the kit advertises.

You want to install the G turbo kit ? OK......

You need to learn A LOT about rotaries and turbos, so you may need to read through this and other forums to educate yourself. And then you can decide how to proceed...

How much boost ? Anything from 1 to 30+ psi. An improper installation and badly tuned maps will destroy the seals at 3psi. A decent installation and good maps will work just fine with 20psi.

If you want good answers, you will first have to learn to ask the right questions

you can do a little search in the mayor horse power seccion, but basically its down to tuning, the best bet is to leave the gredy kit as it comes from factory but if you want more there are kits puttting out as much as 390 to 400 hp, a greedy kit with a properly tuned inter-x will give you 300+ to the wheels, it depends on how much $$$$$ you want to put into it.

Get another car. I mean honestly you dont even own 1 and you wanna just slap it full of mods as soon as you can to make more power. So... why not just buy a car with a higher base hp. Its would be alot more easy to get a 300hp car to the 350hp area then a 235 (that does about 185 on a dyno) to the 350 area.
You need to add about 165hp to get a rx8 to that area.
I'm not a big fan of a mustang but for the same price you'd spend on a 8 and mods you can buy a 06 mustang and be in the 450hp area very safe.

It's your money though.

OMG :O The guy likes the 8. Wants to put a cool turbo, PTP, on it. Why talk him out of it?

Just take the 8k and buy and EvoX. Same horsepower goal and no mods.

Where's IKE when you need him?

Dooh Evo-X fall 2007. Oh well. Lease a VW till next fall, they have great resale.

So much nicer looking then the old Evos. Just change out the spoiler.
