Importing a European spec RX8 to the US

Is it possible to import my 2004 RX8 into the US from Ireland without any major changes. Been here in Ireland for the last two years and would like to bring it home when I return to the states at the end of the year.

BlueEyes is correct - much cheaper and EASIER to sell in Europe and re-buy here.

I'll accept that as true, but I confess to finding it a bit puzzling. How much does it cost to ship the car?

I was looking to get two rolling chassis shipped from Europe to Canada. I got a few quotes all in the 4000-6000 CDN dollar range for the container. Plus, I would have had to arrange shipping from the port to my location which was another few hundred. Then you have to look into importation fees.

Arrow Fees.....

It's not the shipping or the fees, it is the EPA certificate you will need. You have to have it modified, then certified by an import company, can't "do-it-yourself". You contract with them to do whatever it takes, and guarantee to pay whatever they charge(!).

Better sell it in Eire, even at a loss, then buy here.

Sell it overseas and buy another when you get here. It's not worth the hassle of shipping it, and the possible risk of damage, let alone the inspection and licensing fees of a vehicle that is readily available here in NA.
